A right handed batter deliberately hitting to right field would be the exact comparison. The swing needed to get the ball to right field will make it fade/slice.

If you get 77 mph with a 5 iron.you should get much more than 81mph with a driver. Are yous sure the readings were accurate? I've got the Evolver in 9* and 10.5*, with three regular hosels and 3 CYG hosels. I play the CYG's at 2* open. It's a great tool to play with different shafts,and especially face angle alignments. Nice classic shape,long as anything else I've hit and forgiving.

Drivers have been maxed out for years,now. I DO like the face adjustability on some new drivers,though.

Put something behind the ball,(A strip of cardboard will work) about 3" behind the ball. Now swing at the ball and don't hit the cardboard,try to get your divot in front of the ball.

I've got a Fisher Talon,with the changeable face. I love it. You can change the face speeds,so you can use the same stroke on different speed greens. Very solid putter.
