  2. Thanks for the encouragement. I kept a track of all of my putts and I did notice that I only had 34 putts. That was extremely well for me.
  3. Today, I was just going to go out and enjoy a nice afternoon of golf. I went to a course I had only played once before just because I knew of hand their twilight rate was very reasonable. Get to the course and at the club house and I'm going to tee off as a single. On the first hole, I get invited to join a threesome..."sure, why not?" As we are teeing off, I notice they are placing from the blue tees when I normally play from the white....I say what the hell. The blue tees are only 6077 and it's rated at 68.8/113. First tee shot was a thing of beauty. Ripped it right down the center of the fairway. Approach shot caught the backside of the green 25 ft from the hole. I 2 putt for par. I'm so excited right now. I've shown myself that I can shoot a respectable score and I can't to get back out there again. I know with this game, I'll probably shoot a 105 next time around. Through everything today and the struggles that I did have, I noticed I did something today I had never done before...I didn't second guess myself. I played the game one shot at a time today. I didn't think about the next shot...just the one I was playing. If it didn't go where I wanted, no big deal...I'll make up for it. Today, I had one thing.....Focus.

I'm 25 and a newbie to the game.
  5. Hello all. I am in the Memphis area and new to this site and the game of golf. I'm still at the hacking stage now but the sweat at the range is really starting to work wonders for me. Just looking to gain some tips and discuss my love for the game with like-minded individuals.
  6. I am still at the stage where a put a lot of balls in the drink, so I use recycled Callaways.
  7. I would say that I go out by myself on a consistent basis. There is a course maybe 5 minutes from me so if I'm home bored, I'll go to the course. I have been paired with a few people a few times and I've caught up to groups and ended up playing with them. Believe it or not, I actually like to walk the course. I only use a cart if I'm with other people, but if I'm alone...I'm walking.
  8. I lived in Nashville for 7 years while attending college and after graduation. It's an awesome place. It's full of private courses, but you can also find some decent public and munis. I will actually be traveling to Nashville this weekend to visit my friends that are still there and we are playing a tee time Friday morning at the Nashboro Golf Club. I've never played there before, but I've been told that it's a decent course for the money. I would recommend visiting golflink.com to find some courses.
  9. My schedule is pretty much straight forward. I am still new to the golf world, but so far, my practice time has shown some nice results. I stick to the same schedule, weather permitting of course. A typical week for me is the driving range on Sundays, short game practice on Mondays, and practice round on Tuesday. Wednesday is back to the range, short game practice on Thursday, and I get in rounds on Friday and Saturday. I know it sounds like a lot, but I work from home. There are some decent tracks in my neighborhood that are very inexpensive. I'm only 25 and I'm not married. Besides my daughter and my job, which I work from home, I kind of have a lot of free time.
  10. I mostly wear caps when I'm out on the course. Helps keep the sun from attacking me so much.
  11. Reading some of these posts, I really have a long way to go. I played on Sunday for Father's Day and managed to shoot a 102. Yes, I'm horrible.
  12. I am a business analyst. Working from home just about every single day and trying not to kill myself with bordem.
