  1. Hey all, I have the final verdict, if you want to call it that. I've decided, and yes, for a little while I was leaning towards the Odyssey White Hot Tour #9, but then went back to the Method because I've always played anser styles putters and it feels great. Anyways, I'm going to purchase my Method 001 tomorrow after school. :D Thanks guys...
  2. I see what you mean by keeping the right foot on the ground as long as possible...will work on that. Common misses are propably pulls mostly from the fairway (between tee and green)
  3. haha im like 6'3".... I'll try on having my weight be for over the middle of my feet @ setup, as you said
  4. Thanks.... yea my short game is definitely "above par" Hopefully I could get some more advice on my swing from some other people that could be a little more qualified to critique my swing. This is the best quality video I can make though. I'll see on my stance, propably was the angle...
  5. Here's a good drill I use at the range, when I'm just not "feeling it" :-/ Place ball on the same line equal to your right foot. Then do some swings, trying not to hit the ball both on your backswing and upswing. Then, place a ball in your normal ball position, and make about 5 swings with the 2nd ball in place. Then, remove the ball and hope all is good. Hope this helps you all, sure helps me...
  6. Here's... bear with me, its the end of the season , but I wanted to get this up here before the weather got too bad. Sorry for the not so high quality video, as far as frame rate goes, but I hope you guys can help me to get something out of it. Constructive criticism apperciated! Club's a 6i...enjoy Behind View: Side View:
  7. Yea, I hit em at Golfsmith one day, don't think it's possible to hit an "off center" shot on them. Almost too easy to hit i think. But still, I couldn't stand that big thing coming out the back end of the long irons. lol so odd and distracting to me
  8. Mizuno MP-68s :) Nike VR TW Blades and Split Cavities :)
  9. Callaway Big Birthas :p especially long irons
  10. That would be my logical assumption. None here in Michigan either
  11. Here's... 1)Balls/tees/rain gear and all that needed stuff 2)Yardage Book (if applicable) 3)Tape and scissors 4)Burt's Bees Lip Balm 5)5 REACT Gum
  12. I actually love the feel of the grip and weight for that matter, but I guess that's more personal preference than anything.
  13. second on that! The VR iron line is stunning, in my limited opinion
  14. That's 2 of us!
  15. Yea. If you couldn't tell, you could propably count me into that group of OCDs. (Username :NIKEman6, NIKE bag, all NIKE clubs -exluding putter as of now-) But this raises the question, why don't we all give Tiger weird looks for carrying a SC (other than at the British Open when he used the Method due to slower greens) while he has all Nike clubs, clothing line, and is pretty much Nike's main man. But I'm not ruling out the SC, I want a high quality putter, that will consistently perform to my standards and give me the best roll possible, regardless of brand.
  16. Over the past few months, I've been in the market for a new putter. I currently have my dad's old putter, which I think is an old PING anser or something like that, but its pretty beat up and not the best feeling to me by far. I'm now looking at two particular putter models which I've both hit in the instore putting green at golfsmith, and on outdoor turfgrass at a driving range place. 1) Nike Method 001 2) Scotty Cameron Newport 2 I know I know, I can almost hear you now saying, "Nike? What? Making a decent putter?" But trust me, if you haven't hit it before. It feels almost undescribable when you make solid, flush contact with the polymetal grooves. Also, I'm sure many of you reading this have hit or are currently using a SC Newport 2 or similiar model. My opinion, both feel great, but the Nike feels almost insertish like with its new groove technology, a softer feel than the SC's full milled face. So, I am wondering if anyone has any insight on these two putter, or one, on what you think would be the best choice. Thanks to all of you who strained your eyes to read a post this long and I look foward to hearing from you soon... Almost forgot, heres the links to each: http://thesandtrap.com/bag_drop/nike..._method_putter http://thesandtrap.com/clubs/scotty_...putters_review Happy Reading!
  17. Around 250 is my limit for me with my 3-wood. (I started hitting it great off the deck after I saw Tiger hit that massive fade over the water and onto the green in the 3rd round of the U.S. Open this year. I went to the range, and constantly practiced hitting my 3-wood. Now, with a natural 10-15 yard fade) Anyways, I've hit several par 5s in two this year, thanks to a good drive and a nice 3-wood from the fairway. I may be able to stretch it 260 with a slight draw if I have room for it to roll, but if not, I'll hit my natural fade about 250. Also, if I have the room, I'll hit a bigger, higher fade for a shorter shot (higher = shorter, obviously) because as of now, my 4i is my next longest club (205ish)
  18. Yea, the people there are great. I know what you mean by lack of signs and trashcans (i can only think of 2 on the south of the top of my head), but that's just how its set up. Nice, yea. It's a HARD course to play. I've seen people get 10s, 11s, and even someone who got a 14 (that was on #11, the one that you mentioned about the false front....yea fun! ;) Once again, glad you got a chance to play it. I'd definitely recomend it to anyone who had the opprotunity to play a premier course like that. :D
  19. Nice! I caddy there. And I know what you mean about how extreme the undulations are on every green! TV doesn't do it justice. Hope you had fun , it definitely is a fun (and tough) course to play! If you have any questions, hopefully I can help! ;)
  20. ok, i usually prefer a little punchy type shot either with my 56* or gap. on average i'd say 15-20 ft. 30 i would consider bad. but sometimes I stick em inside of 10'
  21. i agree with everything golf pro said. here is my theory SHORT GAME work on it, love it, live it, breath it that is me, then work your way out from the green to 100-150 yd approaches and finally to the tee. good luck, let me know if you have any more questions. i'll be happy to help
  22. I am a sophmore in a private school also. I play golf and basketball for my school and can see your son's situation. I just try to remember this: "School comes before sports" This doesn't mean make him quit all sports and focus only on school. To me it just means let him play what he wants to play, but make sure when he commits to those sports, he can also commit to school. If not, it isn't meant to be. That's my opinion Good luck
  23. Hey all, Got a quick question as far as practice goes, especially when 'ol mother nature like to turn down the temp. Where do you go and what do you do to keep you swing "loose" over the winter and not come back in spring and swing a club for the first time in 5 months and wonder, "What happened".
  24. not unless it's in the right hands...mine. anyways, I can hit an full flop pretty good most of the time (15 or 20 yds or so on a good one), but like i said in my previous post, I don't usually use the flop in competition, unless up just behind a greenside bunker and the pin is on the fringe, which doesn't happen too often
  25. Makes sense. Yea, to me my 56* works ok for flops shots (75-%80% success), (25%-20% bladed). But I don't use a flop to often in competition. In fact, I don't think I've used it at all in a serious tourney round. I see that it may be a good thing to have in certain situations, but I think the 56* works out just fine for my game...as of now.
