My name is Ryan, as you can tell...I'm from Western Illinois and I go to WIU. I work at our university golf course and have just recently taken up golf. I began last summer when I got the job at the course and I'm hooked. I went crazy and I played almost everyday. I'm studying Finance so golf is a must have skill for a business person! I hope that everyone had a safe and fun holiday season, but I can't wait for it to get warm out again so we can all hit the links!
Take care,
Ryan
I would say that ball striking and course management are the two most important things, because they set you up for a good short game and put you in position for a good round every time out.

Break 82 for a round.
Break 40 for 9 holes.
Practice putting much more (two-putt more holes).
Get a putting lesson.
Become comfortable with my new grip and swing.
Punch out more instead of trying to be a hero.
Bring my handicap down to 14.
Good luck everyone,
Ryan
I just bought a set of the new R7s on Ebay (3-SW-stiff, steel, True Temper S300 shafts, new classic wrapped Winn grips) for $415. It said a couple of the clubs had been hit a few times off of a brush mat, but that's basically new and I'm pumped. Most of the new R7 sets are going for less than $500 on ebay, so everyone should check that out!
Take care,
Ryan
It helps, and if you're a 17 handicap, you would probably be able to hit one fairly well. But if you aren't comfortable hitting it, you may as well stick to a hybrid club or a 2-iron!
Good luck,
Ryan
