  1. Thank you Nave! You are quite the writer!
  2. I met my son at his range in his city this afternoon. Started off working with my new driver. Kept topping it. Eventually raised the Tee and worked on not rising with my upper body and ended up with about 6 or 7 good hits towards the end. I became a little flustered when a huge, loud group joined next to us. Worked hard on cancelling them out and did ok the rest of the time. went to their chipping range and did okay with my P and my 52. Putting was good after that-felt relaxed. Spent a little over 2 hours there altogether. We’re going back to the range tomorrow morning and then playing a small par 3 9 hole course late tomorrow afternoon when my other sons show up.
  3. Thank you very much Stuart! Really makes me think and will help me with my training. Amazing thread and effort! Thank you!
  4. It’s been really hot here this week. Right after sunrise I went to the driving range and practiced on my 4 & 5 hybrids, hybrid wood and driver. I also practiced 20yd - 100yd on my gap wedge. I improved a lot the last two weeks on my hybrids and mini driver. Today was first day I shot my gap wedge from a driving range. Am really happy with all of those shots; my work from the school near our house is helping me, especially on the wedge. My driver was pretty scary…. Kept hitting above the ball…. Glad I went!
  5. Thank you Erik! Thank you Denny! I’m really excited about this!
  6. Thank you StuM!
  7. I played 9 holes 4 weeks ago; first time since college and I’m 60 this month. In the last 4 weeks I’ve bought some clubs, read and watched a lot of video and am making golf my newest OCD subject apart from the last two boats I’ve completely remodeled the last two years… I want to become better at this sport in 2023 and be able to make it a fun, daily part of the rest of my life that I can share with my family, friends and others. My goal for the next year is to learn a decent swing, learn to manage each hole I play as well as each club in my bag. I would love this year, to document my avg for each club I use and actually become consistent enough to develop a handicap in the low 30’s. My goal includes setting short term training goals, working out daily and doing other things to get there. Thanks for having me and thanks for this great forum!
  8. I am currently retired and golfed with my sons last month for the first time (playing) since college…. Enjoyed myself sooooo much and am really getting prepared to make it a rest-of-my-life sport! While reading club reviews on this forum I realized what a truly pleasant place it seems to be here and decided to join tonight! Anyway, thank you and I hope I can contribute in the future!!! BThomas
