Greetings From Oregon!

I am currently retired and golfed with my sons last month for the first time (playing) since college…. Enjoyed myself sooooo much and am really getting prepared to make it a rest-of-my-life sport!

While reading club reviews on this forum I realized what a truly pleasant place it seems to be here and decided to join tonight!  Anyway, thank you and I hope I can contribute in the future!!!

Welcome. I recommend as you get into golf that you think about one thing with regards to your swing.

The body carries the arms and the club around you, the arms carry the club up and down.

Do not use your arms to move the club around you much at all, and do not use your body to move the club up and down much.

Since you, hopefully, do not have too many bad habits (yet) a few lessons may get you started in the correct direction.  Also, you should check out the thread below on a practice plan.  I just wish I knew a lot of this before I got all of my bad habits engrained in my swing.  Maybe you can avoid that fate.
