I wouldn't play a full set of blades(3-PW) if your over a 10hc. You need to be a striker, not saying you can't learn though. The additional feel and distance was not worth the sacrifice of consistency. For me at least. The VR Pro Combo blades are just that, VR Blades. Your 8-PW are the easies irons to hit normally. Great set of clubs period. The only thing I didn't like was I would the 5i further than the 4i.

Yea I talked to the TM rep today and he advised me against it. I already have the RIP 70 XS and love it. I was told it will feel completely different and kinda defeat the purpose of having a shaft like that. He did say that you will probably see more distance though. I ordered a 22g just to try. Only $20 figured it can't hurt to try. Just to add, because of the 3 weights, you change CG based on where you add the weight. Center, lower ball flight. Sides, higher. Also talked about changing the spin off the face as well.

... They can get any club in the world and most of them use clubs with some sort of cavity. Most PGA Tour players want to win, if they could hit a blade better than a cavity, I imagine they would.

Played the VR Blades for one season. I'm longer and more consistent with my current VR Split C's. Why do you think majority of Tour players don't use a full set of blades...

In theory, this should work right? A buddy of mine brought it up and I was surprised I never tried it. Instead of the 16gram center weight, you can use a 22gram or 24gram. Only thing that I'm worried about; when I re-shafted my SuperTri, I never thought about adding another 6-8grams. I have an Aldila 70 right, I guess that might mess my swing up a little. Any thoughts?

Nike usually sets their clubs stronger opposed to other companies. My Split Cavity's are 2° stronger than my Zuno's on each club. In turn, I hit them about 10 yards longer per club.

I actually just bought these from GolfShoesPlus.com for $89 with free shipping. I got the Silver. I've only worn them at the range, but so far they are great. Much more traction that I felt with my Nike's. The comfort is amazing, and the memory fit has yet to settle in. I bought these for walking mainly, not sure how well they are going to hold up for an everyday golfer, but so far I have no complaints.

I very much agree with you. I just see much more improvement in the years with woods over other clubs.

I personally think your driver should be the newest club in your bag. With the technology and money they put into these, it is well worth it. I know some of it is advertising and I'm not saying you need a new driver every year. Simply, it's never a waste of money to invest in a new club that fits you.

Used cotton squares my girlfriend had. I tried to just get the liquid on the painted areas, but I wasn't perfect. Took maybe 15 minutes. I filled mine with PPG Single Stage Automotive Paint. I used a medical dropper from the hospital and just wiped away the excess.

For those of you who play Bridgestone, how well does the shell hold up to your wedges? Those of you who pinch the ball mainly.

I know exactly what you mean. I use Nike VR Wedges - not the new V-REV - and by the end of the round, the ball has confetti falling off of it. I get a discount buying direct from Titleist, only downside is I have to buy a minimum of 4 dozen.

Didn't feel like bringing back a thread from last year, so I figured I'd just start another one. I know most people probably play several balls throughout a round. If you used the same ball from start to finish, which ball and why? I've always played Pro V1x's mainly because of how well I can shape the ball with my approach shots. Also, I can go after a pin, knowing they'll stick the green. I sacrifice some distance, but would rather have the feel.

A registered Pro in any shop should be able to suggest something for you. I wear a Large glove but have never liked the feel of Mid-Sized or Over-Sized grips. Winn is my preferred grip but there are so many out there you will be sure to find one you like.

Nail polish remover worked great for me. I filled it with green and white for a while because those were our school colors. Nothing should really damage the putter unless your using something that can eat metal.

Couldn't agree more. I feel like everyone says they "know" this, but I see so many people buying a driver based on how new it is or how it looks. On the other side, there are few golfers out there who actually know how to test a club based on the shaft. The "best" and most expensive shaft is not always the one for YOU. I bought my R9 last season and put a Miyazaki Kusala 72 on it and know where 90% of my drives are going. I demoed the R11 a while ago and had more distance but less feel. Computer said I was on average about 10yds longer at a lower swing speed too. I love TM and have yet to find a driver that would make me end my 15 year "relationship" with for. Congrads on the buy. I'd stay away from driver off the deck if you want to keep it nice.

I love my Nike SQ Tour Carry. The 14 way is the only kind of bag I will buy now. Didn't realize how much easier it made everything. I paid $80 at the beginning of last year through Nike. You can find them for around $100 retail now.

Kind of doubtful that they can keep you on the ground without spikes... If one of the golf stores here ever gets them I'll have to try them out.

Thanks for the input. I know the Nike's I have right now are a little too big, and in turn let my feet slide, which isn't comfortable. I am going to buy the Powerband 3.0 Sports when they're available on GPP. $88 can't complain. Planning on getting the Tour's later in the season for riding.

How do they hold up to the rain and water on the course?

My first thought when I saw the R11 being used in Hawaii, was UGLY. I didn't know it was an R11 at the time. It is starting to grow on me, but I can't imagine it would be that helpful for seeing the club face strike the ball. Especially for people like me who swing around 120mph. When I did my Scotty in Black, I used nail polish remover to get everything off. Then I masked what I could and used an automotive pen to refill the painted portions. Took maybe an hour from start to finish.

Looks real nice for that price. Was thinking about trying out a California this season.
