  1. I wish I could banish any thoughts while I swing! But I try to keep it simple, and like mnel, Ernie helps me out too.. I think of an "ernie els" tempo... ernie on backswing, els down and through. OK it really isn't like that... But above all I think "smooth and easy" and the little back thought is get through to the finish! Mike
  2. Tie: Tin Cup for comedy, The Greatest Game Ever Played for drama.
  3. I get way too many. Golf Mag, golf digest, Golf Tips... The one I read for "golf" is Golf World..... Then like a real nut, I go and get a subs to Golf Week.... Shoot me now....
  4. For certain carriers it is available. Direct TV doesn't have it yet, and boy am I waiting for it!
  5. I like Sancho Panza's - for the money they are superb IMHO, of course cigar taste is as individual as food taste. Also like CAO Camaroon's the Toro in particular.
  6. I use mine exclusively for driver.... I do use epoch tees for irons/FW woods, and I have found those last, but not as much as the Zero's. Most likel because we snip the tops of. I don't, so mine last a round or more...
  7. Though I may have had "better" shots (including a shady hole in one), I find a shot from my first year of play my favorite. I'd only been playing around 6 months and was taking some lessons at the time. We were given an opportunity to play some holes at the CC, and my friend and I eventually met up with a member and finished off with him. The second hole teed off to a slight rise, and I asked for a target to hit to. that done I proceeded to hit the sweetest drive! The member was truly zonked. We measured it and it came out to about 298... dead nuts center of the fairway.... Six months of play - I'll take it!! Sort of like your first time... :)
  8. My buddy got me watching last year, so this season I'll stick with it a while. Though I'd rather see Danielle back....! Right now I'm rootin for Bri... No one else really captures my imagination...
  9. IMHO, there is more than one way to answer this.... A longer shaft on a given club, hit dead on the sweet spot will travel farther than the same club with a shorter shaft, all other variables kept the same. But you have to consider the longest length that you can control . Anyone interested in this should try to get a look at Tom Wishon's books "In search of the Perfect Club" and "In Serch of the Perfect Driver". His pinions - or science as the case may be, makes very good sense. I wished I'd read and understood it all BEFORE I bought some of my clubs! so... If I can swing my driver with a 44" shaft pure to the sweetspot at 125mph, but have trouble finding that same spot with a 45" driver.... the shorted one will be the better choice....
  10. Fred, seems like you and I are in the same place golf-wise. I've always had trouble getting my lower body to really move through to the left, and with the bending of the left wrist at impact. Luckily I found a teaching pro who provided me wih some very good drills that have helped me IMMENSELY in getting my weight transfer correct. We are now working on the proper release, as I tend to let my left wrist bow, and scoop a bit causing to high a ball flight. The drills we are working on for that have been a bit harder, but I can see the principles and the results. Basically, what I am saying is, the best thing for me was finding a pro who was able to effectively find the way to get my swing work for me... You should perhaps stick with the lessons if they have worked so far.
  11. Zero Friction are amazing. I don't know about the hype, but they last an ungodly amount of time.... Unless you give them away, you'll have them an awful long time!

    Sunglasses

I have a pair of Callaways which I really like, and am getting ready to drop on a pair of PeakVision shades. The peaks have a graded lens which is reputedly good for the way you need to see when playing, i.e. darker sky lighter ground...
