OK - to put a more fine point on things.
The SC525 is a step-up from an opening price point push cart. You can go as low as $39-50 for a basic cart up to $2000K for the motorized versions.
Think of it in terms of buying a car. When you buy a Corrolla - you get a good, solid and dependible car. In short, basic transportation. When you step up to the Camry, you get the same reliability, with some more creature comforts. It's the same with these carts. Everything $99 and up is decent quality. Below $99 - the quality is fine, but these carts will likely wear out faster than the $99 carts and higher.
So, what are the main differences between the $100 cart and the $180 cart?
1.) Folding/Size/Ease- the more expensive carts are more integrated and fold smaller than the basic carts. Both BagBoy (EZ Fold LX) and Sun Mountain (Speed Cart V1). To break down fully - the SC525 you need to remove the front wheel.
2.) Adjustability/Comfort - the nicer Bag Boy and Sun Mountain Carts have more adjustment points which can make pushing the cart for 18 holes more/less comfortable. The nicer models have hand brakes. The cheaper versions have foot activated brakes.
3.) Bag Attatchment - the nicer carts have more innovative/adjustable mechanisms to hold your bag.
4.) Accessories - Umbrella Holders, More Deluxe Scorecard, Valuables storage on the higher end models. There are generally no add-ons for the less expensive carts.
5.) Style - the $99 carts look like $99 carts. The $180 carts are more slick looking --the padding and paint jobs are nicer with more detail. There are little styling details on the wheels.
What's the recommendation? If you walk a lot or really like to walk - buy the nicer cart. I think the extra comfort and small details will be worth the money. If you would use this ocassionally, save your dough and by the $100 cart.
