  1. Hm, I have an R5 Dual 10.5 N Stiff and the R5 Dual TP 10.5 Reg. I hit more fairways with the stiff shaft compared to the Regular. Also can hit more draws with the stiff compared to the Reg. They are both N faces but the TP has an open face vs. a degree or so closed on the Std R5. Suprisingly the distance is roughly the same out of each. Like someone else here said, I think the Std R5 is a better fit unless your Hdcp is low enough to start working the ball. I also suspect the closed face might reduce your slices.
  2. I use a black dot on one side of the Mfr Name and a red dot on the other side, colors of the local high school.
  3. Oddessey XG Rossie, great feel and not too big.
  4. On the page where I read about the Red's & Golds they mentioned late May as a release date. I keep checking the Cleveland site but have seen nothing there.
  5. Cleveland Gunmetal - interesting question for me. I played TA5 Gunmetals through most of last year. I also shot in the mid 80's normally with an occasional low 80's. I purchased a set of Titleist 735CM's at the end of the season and continued to play in the mid 80's. I am impressed/happiest with the short irons. I was never able to hit a green with the TA5's and have the ball stop very quickly. Now with the 735's I am only getting a small amount of roll. I have experienced your same problem with the long irons and I might just carry my TA5 3 and 4 irons, we'll see. If you are a dedicated Cleveland man you might want to wait and see what the new CG Red or CG Gold's look like. The Reds, per some rumor page I found, are a replacement for the CG2/CG4 Tours and the Gold's will replace the CG4's. I am still happy with my purchase if that helps you make up your mind to give players irons a try.
  6. I use a Cleveland 588 sand and a Cleveland 900 50* gap wedge. After hitting my son's Mizuno (MP29) today I am not sure I won't give them a try. The feel on the Mizuno is awesome.
  7. TaylorMade R5 TP 10.5 - Graphite Design YS-5 shaft. I am a diehard TaylorMade (driver) guy, started a few years back with a Firesole, I just have it in my head they are the best.
  8. Wolf Creek - Mesquite Nevada easily my number 1. Alexandria CC - Alexandria MN - my favorite place to play at home. Sky Mountain - St. Goerge Utah - pictures can't do it justice, see it in person it's worth the trip. River Oaks - Cold Spring MN - have to mention my home course, right?
  9. I'd like to see Chris DiMarco win some more. And I wouldn't mind seeing Paddy Harrington win more often too.
  10. I have hit the Hi-bore and love it but.. I just can't get used to looking at it. I tried the square Nike at Golfsmith this past weekend. Same story, can't handle looking at that goofy head. And the sound was hilarious, both guys next to me stopped swinging and started laughing after I hit it.
  11. I opted for a little of each. I have this huge desire to hit blades but lack the game to pull it off. I opted for titleist 735's to try and get the best of both worlds. I went from TA5 cavities to the 735 combo set and my scrores stayed roughly the same. So it seems like a good option to me.
  12. Got to go with Happy on this one. Although with a little more Carl, Caddyshack could have gotten the nod.
  13. Cleveland Halo 2i - fills a gap in distance and easier to hit than a fairway wood.
  14. Haven't hit R7's or X-Forged but the Mizuno's are very nice.
  15. I have NS Pro 850's - lightweight steel. I haven't played enough rounds to know for sure how well I like them. DGS300's seemed a bit heavy and these actually seem a little too light. Would like to try DG SL's weight is in between these two. ..............................
