  1. Soak them in lemon juice, ketchup, coke, vinegar...they all work pretty nicely.
  2. I got my whole set for about $1100 a couple years back after my previous clubs were stolen. Driver - $200 refurb demo club Irons - $400 used...9/10 condition Wedges - $30 each used...8/10 condition Rescue Wood - $100 new 3 wood - $30 used...8/10 condition 5 wood - $30 used...8/10 condition Putter - $100 used...9/10 condition Bag - $50 new
  3. Actually, the PW is 46*...that's why I got the 4* increments in my wedges...probably doesn't make much difference though. All, Thanks for the suggestions! I think my "standard" will be to leave my 3 iron and 50* in my trunk. On days when I feel I'm striking the clubs really well...maybe I'll swtich the 3* iron and Rescue club, and on the days when I'm striking poorly, I'll leave the 3 wood and the 3 iron at home...or better yet, I'll stay at home! Thanks again!
  4. I have too many clubs, and need help to decide which are the least needed clubs in my bag. I'm about a bogey golfer...mainly because my short game really, really sucks...I'll lose almost 10 strokes a round from skulling my greenside chips. My full swing iron play is pretty solid though. My bag: Titleist 905R Titleist 980F 15 degree Titleist 980F 19 degree Taylor Made Rescue 19 degree Titleist 695CB 3-PW irons Vokey 50, 54, 58 degree PUtter So...2 clubs gotta go...or at least stay out of the bag per round. I'm thinking 3 iron and 50 degree wedge. What do you guys think?
  5. FJ Contours...best golf shoes I've had in comfort. Pretty good looking, too.
  6. On average...about 180.
  7. I think my problem was that I didn't have a stable base. I was losing my coil on the back swing. Instead of having that feeling of firing forward in my back swing, I shifted my weight so I felt it on the outer edge of my right foot which caused my hip to rotate without feeling any tension at all. As a result, I was late in making contact with the ball which caused my push-fade. I made sure that I felt the "firing forward" tension throughout my swing by putting pressure on the inner part of my right foot and turning my torso instead of my hips to cause the tension and coil. I can't say that it solved all my problems, but my next shots on the course were straight. I still have to go to the range to make little adjustments. I just have to make sure I don't do the reverse pivot.
  8. I have the Ogio Fuze. I liked the Ping Hoofer more.
  9. Never doubted your expertise. I'll try that today. Thanks.
  10. I've just been hitting my woods since my irons are being altered. I'm usually decent with my driver, but I was having a push-fade problem yesterday. I'm guessing a push-fade problem is better than a pull-hook (out to in swing). Anyway, I noticed with only 2 balls left (no pun intended), that my shoulders were slightly open in my setup. Could this be the issue? My grip is pretty neutral. I noticed, however, that I shifted forward during my swing, so I probably struck the ball with an open face. Any good drills to keep the head behind the ball without doing the reverse-pivot? There are a lot of issues with my swing...but it's only the beginning of the season. Thanks for any advice.
  11. I haven't got a chance to play with them yet. My sticks won't be ready until Monday.
  12. I stuck with the 695 CBs and got them custom fitted. My lie angle is 2 1/2 degrees upright. I've been hitting clubs for 10+ years with the wrong lie angle. I immediately felt the difference just hitting balls into the net at the store. Pure shots felt more...pure. I can't wait to go to hit my "new" clubs now.
  13. Awesome. Thanks. I'm going to try to go to the range today to make my final decision. Thanks again.
  14. The Titleist 695cb's PW is 46 degrees...that's why i went with the 50, 54, and 58. I'll probably take out the 3-iron, too.
  15. Well...I was going to go on a golfing trip to California, but someone broke into my car and stole my clubs. Good thing I had a back-up set at home. My old set: Driver: Titleist 905R with YS-6 stiff shaft 3 Wood: Ping G2 5 Wood: Ping G2 Hybrid: Adams Classic 3-PW: Mizuno T-Zoid True GW: Cleveland CG10 SW: Cleveland 588 LW: Cleveland 588 Putter: Odyssey #1 My new set: Driver: Titleist 905R with NV stiff 3 Wood: Titleist 980f w/ Fujikara Speeder stiff Hybrid: Taylor Made (last year's model) 3-PW: Titleist 695cb GW (50 degree): Titleist Vokey 200 SW (54 degree): Titleist Vokey Spin Milled LW (58 degree): Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport I got the above set in 9/10 condition for about $1100. I'm having trouble deciding between the 695cb and the 755s. I went to the range and I hit them equally well. The 755s were a tad more forgiving, and the mishits were about equal with both. If I want the 755s, I need to dish out about $130 more even though the 695s are in better condition. I'll usually hit in the mid to upper 80s. My strengths is my iron game. I'm weak around the fringe. Do you have any suggestions/comments on this set? I'm also open to other irons. I have a 30-day exchange warranty. Thanks.
  16. Scotty Cameron -- got it in mint condition for cheap. Pros - I like the soft and heavy feel. Cons - The head cover's old.
  17. Titleist 980f with a Fujikara Speeder shaft and a Taylor Made rescue club.
  18. I study in seminary school, work in accounts payable, and attempt to play golf. Looking forward to be a part of the community.
