  1. I recently purchased the pro version, and, well, I am unsure. I hit it fine. I thought the feedback the club was suppose to give is a "wormburner" if it was hit on the rounded sole and not on the tiny clubface. So I put blue painters tape on the face to see where the dimple marks were appearing. None! I was hitting this TS Pro 7 iron like 140 yds with decent height without hitting the sweet spot. I am going to watch the dvd that came with it to see if I am missing something (you'd think the concept is simple enough without intruction), but either I am able to get away with a swing that doesn't have the forward lean or I am indeed hitting correctly and the tape didn't do it's job. I even intentionally "flipped" and hit it decent. This may be going on eBay.
  2. Will the Reds blow this (now) 6 game lead with 14 to go and have a Mets-like collapse? The Mets capped one of the worst collapses in baseball history, having led the National League's Eastern Division by 7 games with only 17 to go in 2007. The Reds are certainly not a threat in the playoffs (if they make it). Their pitching is as inconsistent as years past - both starters and the bullpen, which has always been a problem for the Reds and the offense is severely struggling. This team certainly isn't where it is because of Dusty Baker. He leaves his pitchers out there waaaaay too long and they end up letting the game get out of reach. Plus he is the least aggressive when it comes to sending runners to get into scoring position. Sure he's pulled the suicide squeeze twice this year, but that aggressiveness isn't the norm. Leaving Brandon Phillips at lead off who is like 1 for 50 lately is another one that makes you shake your head. Janish is perfectly capable of filling those shoes. Then playing Bloomquist and "resting" Bruce is just stupid. When your team is struggling and needs offense, this isn't the time to rest your stars like the Colts do at the end of the season and THINK you can coast into the postseason. Maybe I have just been been conditioned to expect the worst by living in and following Cincinnati sports all my life. The list of teams that had great potential only to somehow piss it away is endless. At least I am old enough to have the memories of the Big Red Machine and very good Bengals teams of the 80's and that Cincinnati Bearcat basketball team that would have won it all if Kenyon Martin hadn't broke his leg in the first round game. Yep, I see the glass half full and leaking. I guess I prepare for the worst so in case the worst doesn't happen, I can be happy that it didn't - like winning the division on the last day after having this huge lead and relying on another team to do it for you.
  3. Played at Elk Run Golf Club . It's a beautiful course designed by Greg Norman and my first time playing there. Shot 86, but saw great improvement in putting (41 putts) and my driver hit all but 3 fairways thanks to switching to a 13* HT driver and shortening the shaft length to 43". Score woulda been in low 80s had I been able to get out of the fairway bunker 3 times and get the ball down the fairway, instead I hit it waaaaay fat and hit them around 40 yds.
  4. LOL, Mark Walberg on Matt Damon. After seeing Mark in 'Fear', he can put on one wacked out personality. I think he would whoop up on Damon. Then I would like to see Westwwod and Tiger go at it. Westwood looks like he wants a piece of him although there would be two hits - Tiger hitting Lee and Lee hitting the ground. There's a photo on the net of Tiger fist pumping when he forced a playoff at US Open with Westwood (I think thats the tourney) and Lee is in the background next to his caddy and while watching Tiger celebrate with Stevie both have the expression of "what an ass".
  5. I got what appears to be a permanent callus on my right ring finger on the outside of the joint (next to pinky) and closest to fingernail when I switched to overlapping. It got to be such an issue I taped it with padded tape but that eventually didn't help so I switched back to interlocking. I don't have the biggest hands in the world so interlocking helps me keep control in mind. The problem for me with interloacking it takes me awhile to get my grip aligned with both hands where with the overlapping, I would place my left hand on the club in relation to the alignment marks on my grip, then just place my right on top keeping the left thumb in the lifeline of my right. One thing I was doing wrong was not have at least one joint length of my left thumb past the index finger. It was like I had a pistol grip with each hand. Stopping this helped me with control for some reason, my guess is it allows me to release better? With regards to waggle, I do on my driver but not irons, I have no reason, just my routine.
  6. It's a crap shoot at Myrtle this time of year. With it being so hot, you might be the only one playing at all. I know in spring, fall most course pair you up.
  7. My irons and wedges are the same, my driver is different. I never really gave it much thought since I liked Callaway when I hit them and got fitted, so I went to the Callaway wedges by default I guess. The driver I bought really based on price, it was on sale and I hit it well at the store and got lucky it has been a good driver, but still acts up on occasion as they all do. I have a buddy that wouldn't wear a titleist hat that he won, a real nice one, rubber patch, flex fit mesh just because it had the Footjoy logo on it and he wear adidas. You just gotta laugh. I try and play the same ball but have been known to use a "found" ball of any brand as long as its still in decent shape (and I am generous with that qualification) to tee off with if there is a high chance of it not being found again.
  8. Then sorry about their luck. Same as if Green Bay goes and plays in Miami and not acclumated to the heat. These guys are getting paid millions to play a kids game, they can suck it up and put on the under armour. Even if my team was a warm weather team (which they aren't) and got stuck at Lambeau, so be it, if they can't adjust and play to win then they deserve to lose. Jacksonville came into Pittsburgh a few years ago when it was wind chill of zero and snow/ice on the field and put a whoopin on the Steelers.

I think the last video game I played was pong. No, I take that back, I played wii golf once and damn near threw my back out swing at air with a remote control.
  10. I agree. Like the all-star game in baseball
  11. Yeah, that'll be me. Note to self - stop at ATM before game.
  12. Nice. Looks like you pick it clean too (no divot)
  13. LOL! good call. Yeah a Gnome will make it worth the $8 beers I will consume.
  14. It sounds as if your baggage fee is covered by your company? If so, take them. If not, take them. It's better to play with your own stuff. I don;t think you can take a club as a carry on. The length and/or width rule would eliminate that I think. You might be able to check it plane side without a fee. And feeling stupid for bringing your clubs? Don;t even give that a second thought. Hey man, you're doing great for playing 6 mos. Awesome in fact. Take your clubs, feel good about yourself and play well. I bet you will surprise yourself.
  15. Thanks for link and info. How did I not find this already??? I just bought enough Pro V1's from them to last an average golfer a year, we'll see how fast I can lose them. Man, what a savings!
