How can I tell if my current clubs have the wrong lie angle for me?

I just measured myself on ping's chart, and it claims i should have clubs which are a few degrees flat. Can I somehow check my irons to see if this is true? Also... I use taylormades, so i am not sure if standard lie is the same between companies.

You can go to your local club fitter and they can check for you and make the adjustments needed, if needed. Or, you could buy the tape and board to see where your club bottoms out but then you would just have to take them somewhere to get fit. They should not charge you much to make the adjustments.

I have been recently researching new irons and have found that most manufactures differ on their standard lie angles. For example, two degrees flat on a Cobra might only be one degree off standard for Mizuno. E-mail Taylor Made and ask for the standard specs (length, lie angle and loft) for your current set. That way you can know where you are starting from and can make adjustments based on that.

I did this with my old set that were fit for me and wanted to find out how current models compare. I found out that my two degrees up 8 years ago is now +/- 1/2 degree standard on some of the newer models I was looking at.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.
