Hi guys, I finally got around to recording my swing, could you take a look at it?
With the driver, I hit it pretty well when I can remember to do everything correctly, but I sometimes slice it when I get sloppy. I think I slice it if I let my hips slide forward on the downswing or rotate back on the backswing, so I try not to move them at all. Does that make sense?

You have a very nice swing, nice finish to your golf swing and a good base.
I wish I was young and strong like you.

In my opinion, you are swing with your arms and not your big muscles of your shoulder and hips. The two things that I noticed is that your initial take away and backswing position of your shoulder and hips.

Take away
Start the take away with your shoulders and not your hands. two other things, when you take away with your hands, you are taking it slightly outside, (another note, if you are taking away with your hands, you might be putting with too much hands also, instead of putting with your shoulders)

Back swing
at the top of your swing make sure your shoulder are turned as much as possible, so that the back of you shoulder is facing the target. put a small piece of tape just above the right pants pocket and try to have the tape facing the opposite direction of the target line for a fuller hip turn.

Tempo
Sometime if you start your take away with a slow and low tempo you can make a fuller turn of your shoulder and hips and possible be more consistent, however you need to find your own tempo for your golf swing.

Practice
practice your backswing with a one piece take away starting with you shoulders, you might ask when should I start breaking my wrist? when the shaft is parallal with the ground you can begin the breaking of the wrist up.

Conclusion
Otherwise you have a nice powerful swing, I wish, I had. using the big muscle will make your swing easilar to duplicate and prevent slicing. your goal is to think about swinging the driver or irons with the shoulders and hips and not with just your arms.

Thanks for the comments,

I'll definitely try starting with my shoulders. I thought I did, but watching it back it doesn't quite look like how it feels. And you're right about the putting, because I struggle to keep my wrists still during the stroke.
The hard part for me is swinging with my shoulders without moving my lower body too much. Watching the video, I can see I move my hips around more than I thought I did, but not nearly as bad as I used to do.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
