I have the 64 bit version of Vista and OS X (haven't gone to Leopard yet) and I'm in the minority as far as being happy with Vista.

Vista loads up and shuts down faster on my notebook than most XP notebooks. I reinstalled it with no frills and I have 4GB of memory on my mid priced notebook. I've never had to reboot in Vista (yet). The new security features are a pain, but I'm used to them now.

Vista loads up literally in less than 10 seconds, shuts down in 5. Apple OS X on my Mac loads up and shuts down even faster.

I use a virtual machine, VMWare workstation, for XP in case of unsupported hardware for Vista, but it's gotten alot better.

Dialup? Ouch, I found it hard to let go of wireless broadband (internet from anywhere) and am eagerly awaiting FIOS. The US is so behind in terms of network availability and cost. Yes, we have alot of surface area to cover, but to stay competitive, we need to get our butts in gear.

The key to getting Vista to work best is having the right hardware to support it. If you have enough horsepower, Vista is a much more elegant and sophisticated operating system than XP.

I have had virtually no trouble with Vista. But I have been in high level support in the computer industry since 1980. So maybe I know how to avoid problems. And all the applications I need to run are Vista compatible.

Personally, I could not go back to XP now that I have been running Vista for about a year.

I just wish all the apps I need to run were available on Mac OS X....that is the best consumer OS available.

    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
    • It is a known technique, similar to the armed forces box technique. They use a 4x4 , in through the nose and out through the mouth. I use it to go to sleep fairly often. It works for me
