Anyone else riding the stock market rollercoaster?

call me stupid but I stopped looking at the statements that come in the mail from the financial group I invest with. I am just going to ride it out. No sense in stressing myself out over it.

Not stupid at all, probably the most sensible. Leave the emotion out of things...

I blame my checking on the fact I worked in stock brokerage/asset management for a couple of years and so it was in my nature to have Yahoo Stock Ticker going on my desktop, and having CNBC on in my office!

I was out of town all last week and this is my first day back in the office. Whats the deal with short selling and is that just for the stock markets or for the merchantile exchanges too?
