I'm going to come right out and say it. No, diving in a dumpster for golf stuff is not being frugal. That's called being a bum.

I'm not sure whether I'm more surprised that some of you went and dumpster dived or that the stores throw away things they could actually sell! Clubheads, headcovers and the like.

Why the hell would the idiots do over a golf shop and only nick jumpers ?

I couldn't see the point either! It's not like they could sell the sweaters to anyone outside the course (as they wouldn't want an embroidered sweater for a course they weren't a member of) or on the course (as it'd be obvious who they were!).

There was another goofy instance like this. When I was back in the UK one of my religious studies teacher had a VW Golf with a pretty decent Kenwood radio. Someone broke the window and stole all the relgious studies textbooks from her seat leaving the £200 radio in place! At the time car radios were being pinched out of Golfs all too regularly. We got a good laugh out of it!
