Is this a good low launching shaft? Any other suggestions that are affordable? Would it make a big difference (right now i play a UST Widebody shaft, relatively high lauch)? And if i paired it with my Dymo, would the ball spin rate decrease or stay the same?

And the big question, if i paired the dymo 9.5 with the prolaunch red shaft, what would be different than say, a dymo 8.5 with a stock shaft shaft?

Thanks in advance.

ProLaunch red is low, but it's very boardy. Not a bad shaft by any mean though. If you're trying to stay in the same price range, give the V2 a try also.

This may be a dumb question, but what does "boardy" mean? Stiff? I've heard this before regarding this shaft, but never understood?

Maybe give the Grafalloy Blue a go (not the prolaunch Blue) its pretty cheap as its a few years old but its still a great shaft.

The ProLaunch Red does play a lot stiffer than other shafts in the same flex and the torque is also low. Boardy to me is how it feels. If you're a strong hitter and can load this shaft then you will probably like it.

As stiff as the widebody? (which was made to be stiffer?).

I just installed a Red in a 2hybrid. I played it today for the first time. I have a Blue in another hybrid and I like the performance of the Red. I'll be looking for more in the future. I bought a new pull out for 11.50 on ebay.

Good luck

A few weeks ago I installed a 66 gram RED in my driver, x stiff, and it feels great to me. I was afraid it would feel like a broom stick in x stiff but it feel nice to me.

I liked it so much that I purchased a 74 gram RED fairway shaft in stiff to try in my 3 wood.

    • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
