Hey guys,

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on a shaft for an 9.5 degree FT-9 driver. Was recommended a Graphite Design YSQ 65 stiff wanted to consider some other options, too. My swing speed averages 100mph with a fairly smooth, moderate tempo. I'm not mechanical and like to be a little "handsy" to whip it through impact.

With the YSQ, launch is around 14 degrees with 2200rpm spin, flat trajectory. It all sounds good on paper, but I'm not crazy about the way the shaft feels. I'm thinking it might be a tad too stiff? So what other shafts do ya'll think I should try as an alternate? Can't wait to hear your comments!

P.S. Love the IMIX!

I have the Fubuki Tour 63 stiff and I think you'll like the feel of this shaft better than the YS6. You should also try the Blueboard, ZCOM 6, Speeder 686. I have not tried the Motore F1 but have heard a lot of buzz with it also.

They're all mid-high launch. 686 and the ZCOM are by Fuji. Blueboard and Fubuki are by Mitsu. Blueboard is a high launch high spin. Fubuki is a new shaft that's supposed to be high launch but lower spin.

You might like the Fubuki. I got a Fubuki and a whiteboard. Am really liking the whiteboard right now, but it's a low launch shaft so it might not be what you are looking for.

Try the Fubuki or Blueboard.

    • Down the line and face on from today. Still feeling like I’m sticking the club into a hole in the ceiling above my right shoulder and then big loop inside to start downswing. That’s how it feels. Not how it looks though! Gotta keep working on this for a bit but I see a lot of progress. 😁
    • Day 5 (13 Mar 26) - Friday shootout cancelled- made it a practice round working from mixed tees. Plenty of up and down work around greens.  Best was a hole out birdie on the par 3 #5 hole - nice pitch and roll w/Pw from about 10yds off the green - dead center flagstick drop.  Much of round was focused on getting solid weight shift into lead foot.
    • Day 208 3-13 Worked on wrist arching and flow. First time hitting reall balls at a range in months. It was nice to see ball flight. Still not sure it beats my backyard practice station.
    • Three hole match - microphones on in the cart. It's fascinating listening to them talk about their shots and how they play them. I'm not normally a huge fan of the TM videos - they seem forced to me - but this one doesn't. It's also fun seeing their competitiveness over what on the face of it is a fairly meaningless 3 holes, but they can't help themselves.
