Would it be a smart move if I could get over 130 for my 09 Burner to get the Tour Burner?

I've had somebody offer me 150, (which I don't know why they would buy it when they can get the tour for less) but theoretically, if I could get enough to sell it, would that be a good move?

Thanks

Why are you trading in the 09 Burner? And why do you want the Tour Burner? I think we could help you out better with the answers to these questions.

Thats basically what I was looking for. Would the Tour Burner be a better club than the Burner itself. I really like my burner, I was just playing around with the idea of the Tour Burner.

we know nothing of how you hit your burner. If you hit it well then stay with it. If not and you hit the tour well then go with that. try em out in a side to side comparison and see what ya think. My little brother just bought the 9.5 tour because he is hitting it better 08 10.5 burner. look at it and give it a try.

The point is the Tour Burner may or may not be the better club FOR YOU. Without knowing how you hit the ball that is impossible to tell.

I can tell you, I personally like the Tour Burner better. I like the shape and styling, slightly smaller clubhead size, and the shorter length shaft when compared to the 09 Burner.

I tested both at Golf Galaxy today. The results seemed to be similar. The '09 Burner shaft is a bit longer and lighter than the '08, which I considered a negative. I also like the smaller '08 head better, and the cheaper price. I bought the '08. For $130 I can easily get rid of it if I don't like it.

Dicks Sporting Goods sells Tour Burner for $129.99 now.

Which is a phenomenal deal.

It's been a great club for me. This was once a $399 club.

I believe the Tour Burner is harder to hit straight. So if it really is workability you're looking for, go for it. Try it out, though.

Is this club geared more towards the mid to low handicapper?

There is a Tour Burner TP which is geared toward a low-handicapper.

Although this is not a game improvement driver per se, I would not say a mid to high handicapper couldn't use it. I'm roughly a 20 and I can hit it pretty decently.

I know the TP version of the Tour Burner, with its 2* degree open face and upgraded shaft is. But a 20 handicap like yourself should be able to handle the regular version if you have decent swing speed. For people with quick tempos, it could be even easier to handle than the 09 Burner do to it's shorter and heaver shaft. And, I find the slightly smaller head more attractive toi look at.

Could someone please post a list of differences between the tour and the regular burner?

    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
    • Day 1 - 2025-12-20 Starting a new streak, of at least 1. With rain dumping for the next week in the north bay area, I'll be a lot of outdoor net work and maybe some putting. About 10 minutes of 7 iron work, focused on the usuals: weight transfer, keeping hands behind me. I'll have more time in the coming days for video review and maybe some Hack Motion.
