Since I'm getting some new Irons with big plans to improve my game, I figure maybe I'll go ahead and get some new Wedges as well...what the heck, it's only money, right? You can't take it with you...

So I ordered the Nike Victory Red Iron Set that includes a 45* PW and 50* AW

My current Cleveland iron set has a 56* SW that I hit OK and I have a 50* and a 60* nonames that I haven't really played much (I hit the 60 every now and then, but rarely ever the 50*)

Anyhow I was thinking a 54 or 55* and 60* if I went with new ones and maybe not carry the new 50* Nike AW... but wasn't really sure if there would be too much gap between 45* PW and new 54-55*

Was thinking about trying to find a nicer used set of Cleveland's or Vokeys or something.

Thoughts?

I would say go with the Nike Victory Red line for your wedges. Will give you a nice feel matching your irons. I mean, you don't have to, but it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks, that did cross my mind...

What about Degree/Bounce, 52/54/56/58/60? (I'll have the 45*PW and 50*AW)

I would say to go 54/14 [ a lot of bounce but I really like it for deep rough and wet fairways...if you play in real dry conditions you might want to get less bounce it will 'bounce' through the fairway ] and 60/10 with the degrees/bounce.

I think I'll try a 54/12 and a 58/6 (I think the 10bounce would have been better, but I got a decent deal online on the 6 in Black that I wanted) Nike Victory Red Forged Wedge combo...

So I'll have 45* PW, 50* AW, 54* SW and 58* (Nike calls it a "High Sand")

If I don't like it, I'll try something different...
