I am thinking about regripping my chipper. Do you guys play with a normal grip or a putter grip on your chipper?

Many years ago, I played with a normal grip on my chipper. However, after a short time of using it (I inherited it from my grandpa), I tossed the chipper out, when I realized that I could do just as well with a choked down 7 or 8 iron, and have room in my bag for another wedge.

Don't use a chipper myself, but I think using a putter grip (one that is not circular in cross section) on a chipper would not conform to the rules of golf.

correct. only putters can have a single piece grip with a flat surface.
