Just brought some Nike One Platinum golf balls to try them out after i read this fantastic review about them, i just changed in the last few months to the Pro v because of my 125 MPH swing speed (just wondering if these will still work very well at this swing speed, as some golf balls don't), has anybody played these and had good results or maybe quite the oppisite. Please let me no, thanx.
By the way, I am playing tomorrow but just want to how others have gorne with these balls!

I don't think you need to worry about your swing speed with the Nike One Platnium since it's what Tiger was using the last couple years (before switching to the new Nike One Tour ball this year). Tiger and Nike admit it is not the longest ball, though. It's designed for more spin, but doesn't have the distance of most other premium ball (Tiger always said the spin and control were so good he was willing to sacrifice a few yards). I personally liked the feel of the Platnium and had good results with it, but stopped playing it simply because of the price. I might have to pick some up now that the price has dropped to almost reasonable.

I play the Nike One Platinums and love them. They dropped the price a little while back which is nice as well. I don't have as much swing speed as you but I do have decent swing speed. The ball gets great spin and feels good around the green imo.

I picked up a dozen of One Blacks at Dicks the other day for $29 (I also had a rewards gift certificate, otherwise I wouldn't have bought brand new balls, even at that good price). The Blacks work better for me because I don't need all the spin (especially on my longer clubs). Now is a good time to pick up these premium balls at a mid-tier price point because once they sell out of exisiting stock that'll be it.

I received a dozen of the One Platinum a few weeks ago and tried them out. After the 9th hole I decided they were the best ball I ever dropped and fired into a field. So now I use them to hit a few shots if I can't get a warm-up in before my round. Seriously, never had much luck with these. I guess I can't compress them enough or whatever to get the flight correct. But I know people that swear by them so different strokes I guess.

I like the feel of the Platinum, off the tee and around the green. I'll either play the Platinums or the ProV1's, both are equal in my mind.

The TA2/Spins I fell in love with also, I think they are a tad better than the Platinums, IMO.

    • Day 34 (14 Dec 25) - Got outside for a few moments to work on bump and runs with the 4h (again using the exaggerated weight shift reminder of the left (lead) heel). Finding that it helps keep the downswing arc extended.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
