What do you guys think about them? I really love the look of them, Im gonna hit them tomorrow at golfsmith and see if they feel nice....

Just wondering your take on them and if you guys think they are too hard for me... Im a low 90's golfer now but working hard to take care of that!

I don't suggest going in with any preconceived notions. Hit lots of stuff. But for wiw you can see by my sig what I'm playing and they are like butta.

I play the MX-200's, and they were chosen after demoing several other clubs. I had a hard time choosing between the Titleist AP1's or the MX-200's, but I'm confident I made the right decision.

As far as these clubs being too difficult, this is my first set of irons. I started playing for the first time this February, and I wanted a set of irons that I could grow into. These irons are probably the best mix of forgiveness and feedback on the market.

I really didn't like the AP1s. Just the feel in my hands was terrible. I considered the Nike split cavity, the AP2s and the Miz MP52 (my son has these) but ultimately I went with more forgiveness. What really sucked was the day I had my fitting, my back was giving me a fit. Pulled some muscles or something so my swing was off. But I hit the MX200s ok. I figured if I could hit these well on a day when my back hurt they could only do better when I was swinging correctly.

Where did you get fitted Doctorfro? Do you get fitted everytime you buy a set of clubs?

Oh and the guy at golfsmith was really cool, but he kept pushing the burner irons, so I didnt get a chance at all really to hit the mx200's.

Don't let anyone push any clubs on you. Hit as many as you can, and at some point you'll hit a set of irons that you really love. By the way, how did you like the burners?

I dont really know, I loved them, but.... they come a half inch long, so maybe thats why I loved them?? Im 6'3 and have never been fitted and been playing standards forever. The burners come longer than anyone else, so Im thinking thats why they felt so good.

They let me take a 6 iron home, so I took it to the range and couldnt believe the distance and feel. Distance was because of added length I think, 10-20 yards farther than my Cobra 6 iron. But as for feel, the sweet spot feels like butter man. I hit one hard off the toe, went 150 and straight, couldnt believe it!

Anyways, I really liked them, but honestly i didnt even have to try to hit them, they did all the work themselves... Which is great for most, but guys on here really really wanna get better, and I think there are better options which will make/help you improve your strikes...

I think that ball can hit anywhere on that face and you wont be dissapointed!

I got fitted at a place that, unfortunately, fell the way of the economy. It was called Z golf and they had a shop at the Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte. They have some other locations as I remember that are still in business. They used the Trackman equipment. As far as being fitted everytime I get new clubs....the last time I got new clubs the technology didn't exist. I had played my old irons for about 15 years. If your swing changes between iron sets I would say get fitted again but if it doesn't then the specs really shouldn't change that much unless the guys who did the fitting were poor at their job. And any good fitter should not be pushing you one way or the other. Stats are stats and what you hit the best and what feel good to you should be the deciding factors. Not what's the fitter's favorite.

    • Swing check. Cons: The countertop drill hasn't taken yet. Not crazy about A5 to A6 hand path. Pros: Decent BS width at A2 and right elbow at A4. All in all, not terrible but meh..
    • Day 74 (14 Jul 25) - Late afternoon session w/9i, magnetic alignment stick, Divot board and hard foam balls.  Worked on getting the face square at setup and then returning to same through the swing.  The lines on the Divot Board served as referenced parallels for the alignment stick.  Did hit a few balls about 30 total - half with using the alighment stick on the club face and half without.  First time working with the magnetic alignment rod - really reveals when you have the face closed/open/etc.
    • I mean, that is what I figure would be the case.  My mind is just trying to wrap around the idea that 22" left = feet aiming like 15 yards left visually. It's like in a CADD system, if the flag is the base point when you scale an image, it stays in the same spot as you get closer (scale up) or get further away (scale down).  I can image how if you have a 10-yard chip, it could look much more like your feet are aimed nearly 22" left of the flag.  Now I want to try to make some measurements and quantify this 🤣.  Yes, they do. Yea, that is true.
    • Closer to like 22" than 36. Why wouldn't the target line (ball) be at the target (flag) with your feet parallel left of that? Perception messes with a lot of people. Almost all righties tend to aim to the right, because what feels parallel left — particularly given that your eyes are "between" the ball and your feet — feel like they're pointed MILES left even when they're square. Also, there's no rule that you have to be parallel left of the target line. I like to be slightly open at setup.
    • Depends on the lie, pin location, green.  I would say most of my pitches are with my 60-degree.  Its probably like 90% 60-degree, 10% 56 degree.
