I have a stand bag with dual straps. Recently, I purchased a used pull cart and have been enjoying not lugging a bag around for 18 holes. The only problem is that when I strap the bag to the cart, it will soon rotate to one side or the other with the bag eventually laying on it's side. This is due to the back of the stand bag not really being round, but more squarish so it doesn't sit on the cart very well.

Would a cart bag be good for this? I wasn't sure if cart bags were just for golf carts or if they do just fine with pull carts too. Mainly I want a bag that sits on the cart correctly without twisting to one side or the other. Also, any recommendations would be nice.

What type of pull cart are your using?

I've had no problems with the comination below in my sig line. The bag's base is the best I've had for a stand bag...it cams over to deploy legs vs. having a fulcrum tab that sticks out (my last bag was like this and would only sit sideways).

Every time I think about wanting a larger cart bag with 14 club divider....I find that I'd hate to not have the legs on my bag....so handy at the range or when I set it down to load into the car.

Check the bases on any of the bags you are considering. Rounded is best for the carts. I see the Callaway bags simular to mine (both older and newer) that have the same base selling for low cost online.

Here is the only pic I could find of my bag/cart.

I figured it out. The plastic part that the upper part of the bag rests on is rounded, as it should be. The problem is the legs on the bag don't rest on this rounded plastic very well, causing it to shift one way or another. I figured out that if I work the legs around the plastic platform so that the platform is between the legs and the bag, it fits very well. Also, the legs keep it from moving around. Worked pretty well that way.

Any chance you have a pic of how you made it fit? I have the same problem. I have a Bag Boy SC-250 and a Callaway FT stand bag. The rounded upper neck of the push cart meets the upper part of the stand legs, thus the bag won't fit in correctly. I have to turn it on its side for it to fit correctly. Does anyone know if the height is adjustable on the Bag Boy carts?

The bag and cart are both black, so not sure how easy this will be to see. But, you can see that the part the bag rests on is between the bag and the stands. Also, each stand is on either side of the "neck" that holds the bag rest to the frame of the cart. This also helped to keep it from sliding one way or another.

The best way I found to get it this way was to lay the bag on the cart and then try to shimmy the bag rest arm under each stand. The bag rests arms on my cart are fairly flimsy, so it wasn't hard to do this, but I'm also using a cheap cart.

On my bag, it did raise the bottom of bag just slightly off the bottom of the cart. But, this didn't seem to be a problem because I was still able to strap the straps around the bottom to hold the bag to the frame.

    • They sure do. 158 with an 8 iron is on the high end for me
    • Went back to controlling my knees. That part was getting a bit sloppy when I worked on my backswing. Right hip didn't slide or gain internal rotation. I would just rotate back and around and the left knee would be in a bad spot. Really focusing now on keeping my left knee very stable and straighter in the backswing. I can't go back to the old pattern of overturning the hips. I was returning to my old pattern to time my downswing. Turn forever.  Left knee controls both knees and hips, acting as an anchor. Feel like it straightens a bit.   Hinge sooner and faster. Not in a way that sends the hands out and flips the club over. I still noticed when the hands get to A2.5, the hands would want to flip over and flatten the club out a ton.  Still trying to figure out how to roll the forearms a bit open and not just roll the club inside a ton.  Figure out the timing to get the hands down. Still getting a bit of right elbow collapsing in the downswing because the arms are too high when I turn. Everything is happening sooner now. If the hips are controlled, the backswing is shortened. Because it is shortened I don't know when to get the hands down and I just turn because the downswing is a go.  Very slow (50%) swings are decent.
