Subaru Forester, Jetta Sportwagen - Feedback, Anyone?

congrats!! I, too have been looking for another car. we looked at the Jetta Sportwagen, GTI 4 door, Subaru WRX, Prius...

my neighbor just bought a Forrester and they love it. not much snow here, but it's a nice car. We've had bad experiences with VW, but they redesigned them so we thought we'd take a look. nice cars, but reliability was an issue. the WRX, is a beast but it doesn't fit 2 golf bags, and either does the GTI....so we got a Prius.

I think the redesign did them wonders on all the new VW stuff. That and their integration with Porsche, which I think was reasonably recent.

The 2004 Touareg had a lot of problems, from what I was able to determine, but they fixed a lot in the 2005s. A lot of the recent models seem to be running much more smoothly. VW also offers three years with no maintenance fees. Oil changes, all that stuff, free. Which is nice.
