But he won an international event: Qatar. And, by my math, 13th is about 11 spots away from second.

This year. I'm talking about when he was sixth last year (or however high he got after the Masters) without having won an event during the two-year time frame the OWGR rates players.

Are we leaving out the Women's British Open? Oops. That drops down about 12 spots by the averages...

Nice math. She finished, IIRC, T27. So 27 + 5 + 3 + 5 = 40. 40/4 is 10th. Add in her top-five finish at last year's Women's British, all the other top fives she's had this year, and basicall you've got a girl with a better top-ten percentage than Tiger Woods. Less wins (duh), but far and away a better top-ten percentage than Tiger Woods (and certainly Chris DiMarco).

Right, but all of these people have won

They haven't won a major in the past two years. If you're gonna hold Wie to that standard, hold them to it as well.

Adam Scott got points for that win though.

I'm fairly certain he didn't. He didn't get official prize money and his win doesn't count as a victory on the PGA Tour. Maybe he got OWGR points, but I don't think he did.

Oh, and Ernie won 2 events back after his surgery. I forgot which event.

All in 2005. He hasn't won on the PGA Tour since the 2004 WGC-AmEx. European Tour events typically have far less "strength of field" to contribute. LPGA majors, on the other hand, do not.

You asked how she was second, I explained it and gave examples on the PGA Tour. The simple truth is nobody can match her record - her average finishing place in tournaments and majors - on the PGA Tour. I'm not even sure Tiger Woods would match her average finish. She's winless, you bet. Should the Rolex World Rankings favor winners? That's an entirely different discussion. For now, the simple math is this: T3 and T5 in two LPGA majors beats winning a major and finishing T37 in another major on the PGA Tour (for example).

    • Day 2:  I hit a bucket of balls this morning.  Not gonna lie, almost didn’t go since it was my first time going alone and it was a little intimidating.  I mostly hit with my driver (the last bit of balls was with my 7 iron).  The sun was in my face but I think the ones that had good contact with went the furthest yet (maybe 150 yards then a good roll?).  Once I switched to my 7, the first half of my balls were crap.  I’ve always hit my irons before my driver when practicing and done fine - does this make any difference or is it just because I’m so green?
    • It's likely per "category" of clubs, so irons would be one category, wedges would be a category, driver a category, fairway woods/hybrid a category, etc. They aren't going to charge you $50 per iron for a fitting. Almost all iron fittings are done with like a 6 or 7 iron, fitters don't carry full sets of every iron. So yes, if you use a 7 iron for the fitting and let's say you get fit into the P790 with a certain shaft, 1 degree flat and .5" longer than normal you would just order the full set of P790s with that shaft/lie angle/length combination and you'll be perfectly fine.
    • I think the $50 fitting price tag is per club. The clubs I am most interested in getting fitted for are irons. And I'd rather not spend a bunch on getting fitted for multiple irons. Would I be fairly safe to assume that choosing something like a 6 or 7 iron for fitting would likely relate to other lofts in the same configuration/make/model?
    • A Mevo is 500. Comes with little decals to hit balls inside too.
