I'm taking my lad to Scotland this summer to celebrate him graduating high school, and to see my mum & brothers in England. We're planning on spending a day at the British Open, probably the thursday. However for the few days before and after we plan on playing golf. I'm doing this all on the cheap as i'm not scared of renting a tiny Fiat and driving around etc, having been there many times before. I could use some advice. I'm looking to play some courses where a high handicapper would feel comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations. We're looking to play 5 or 6 rounds while we are there.

Many thanks in advance

Bob

http://www.alford-golf-club.co.uk/ try there it is a good course it definatley would make a high handicapper feel comfortable and it is only about £20 it is quite flat but has some good bunker position and if you come like the day after an open the pins will be in good positions to challenge you

there is also alot of water on the back nine the 16th is the signature hole pretty much one of my mates during a medal round shot a 15 without going in the water

Hi Bob, I have been golfing in Scotland for over 35 years (and will be at The Open too). Will happily give you all the advice you need. Do get in touch by sending me a PM. Regards. N
