So today i got my first eagle on a short par 5 at 440 yards (i know most courses this would be a par 4). Hit driver off the tee then a 5 iron to the green, and had about a 6ft or so putt for eagle and sank it! ....... but then two holes after that everything started falling apart my swing was bad, making bad shots, and poor mistakes. i was able to pull out the day with an 85 with 17 putts on the front 15 on the back making for 32 so not too too bad... well thats all, just wanted to share my experience, thanks.

You won't remember what you shot that day, just that you had an eagle. Congrats, I'm still looking for that elusive eagle myself.

Nice work on the eagle!.

My second eagle was the same as yours. The tees had been pushed forward down from the normal elevated teebox so the hole played more as a par 4. Hit the green in 2 and sunk the put.

Score doesn't really matter, it's all about getting the first eagle.
Hopefully a lot more will follow!

My first and only Eagle was on a 256yd dog leg left par 4, I just tried to cut the corner a little and pulled it with a little draw, I thought it was in the rough around the corner, when I walked round the corner the three ball in front were standing on the green waving their arms and shouting, I walked up to them and my ball was on the green, I couldn't beleive it, I made my appologies and the guys said, while we are all here you may as well make the putt, so adrenalin pumping like mad I stepped up and made a ten footer.
The guys asked if I wanted to join them for the rest of the round, I cannot remember the rest of the round at all.

That was 2 years ago on a trip to the UK, I have never had an eagle on US soil yet, been very close so many times but just can't make the putt.

Congrats!
My one (and only) eagle was on a medium length par 5 and I had 100 out and hit a pitching wedge and sank it. I wonder what % of eagles are NOT putts?

Congrats!

I was wondering this too the other day after I three-putted yet again for par. I WANT AN EAGLE!
