Shaft question

Will shaft stiffness or torque affect a slice or hook? Or does the stiffness only affect distance or something else?

Too flexible, you will hook left more. Same goes for too stiff. In my case I corrected my swing and so I was hitting it left bad with my old clubs that had regular shafts in them, now I have S300 Dynamic Golds in my new clubs and I love em!

P.S. In some cases if the shaft is right for you (if you get fit for it) you can gain distance.

Thanks for the help. I have a horrible slice, especially with my driver, but with a soft/regular shaft, it seems to help. I also worked on my grip which help a lot as well. Now to work on my swing some more!

Torque can sligtly exaggerate a tendancy, but it is one of the smaller factors. If the club has torge over 2 but less than five it probably is not a significant factor. Flex, and club weight both static and swing weight are more often factors. Torques is the resistance of the clubhead to twisting prior to impact. For most people the effect is more on feel than performance if within the 2-5 range.
