I have started to devlop an ott swing and my ball striking has suffered tremendously. Out of frustration and trying too hard I hit it right, left, fat, thin, and with no distance. I seem to release the club way too early more often than not. Any thoughts?

Try playing with ball position? When I have trouble getting clean strikes, I can sometimes move the ball forward or back a bit, and it forces your swing plane and path to adjust a bit. It doesn't need to be a permanent change, it helps to get you back to normal.

Also, if you're losing timing and the feeling of release, either get a shaft with a grip but no head attached or hold a club by the tip of the shaft and swing the grip end a few times. The weight of the club gets negated and you can sync your body and hands back up.
