I've been playing golf for 3 years. Last golf season i started going to the range regularly.  This season i've been putting alot of work into my game.

my average score is mid to low 80s i feel like im getting closer to a break through but i know something is missing in my swing

my ball flight with my irons are high

when i miss a shot its a hook and i think i just get lazy with my hips

thanks for the all the help i've already learned so much from this community.  I was struggling with a duck hook off the tee but after doing some drills from some people here.  I started getting my hips through the shot and my swing feels back to normal

check your swing path when your going back, it seems like you might be hurrying at the top and trapping your hands resulting in a hook. A good way to check your swing path and setup 3 tees in row about 3 inches apart aiming at a target now line up your ball in front of the tees and practice taking it back over that path. As for the high ball flight move the ball just a bit forward cant tell exactly but it looks like you play the ball back a bit and that makes the ball go higher.

Yes, you are too flat...try to concentrate on bringing the club straight back and up closer to your shoulders.  Your follow through looks really good.

Ive been hitting really good solid shots and pretty consistently the problem is my misses are BAD really bad maybe because im to flat and i make it hard to get back to a good impact position? I know that was a statement but it was really a question lol am i on the right track i like to understand why something is hurting or helping my swing

try the tip I suggested if you haven't already, easiest way to straight out your take back and give us a recording from the front.

    • Day 323 - Opposite of yesterday, focusing more on taking a full backswing than anything else.
    • Day 139: worked on putting for a while. Did the two cups drill for bead.
    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
