I was wondering if it was worth it to have the lie angle on my irons adjusted around 2* flatter to fit my swing, since the person I bought them from was very tall. I'm wondering because I've started to reach a small plateau in my game improvement, and I was wondering if this chane, as well as more frequen practice, could help me push through. Also, is it worth it to have this done when I'm considering buying new irons (MP-69's) in the next year, or should I wait. Should I buy my own simple lie and loft adjustment tool since I have a simple hitting area set up to test it immediately, or should I pay a place like Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy to do it for me? I can do shaft/grip replacements, so I do have some club modofication experience, if that changes anything. I'm a little new to clubfitting, as my biggest experience wih it so far was to find that Pro Launch Red's work very nicely in my woods, and that's about it. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

If it were me I would just wait because you wont be using your current clubs for too much longer and you may sell them after you get your mizunos.  Also I'm assuming your mizunos are coming to you stock so you are going to have to change the lie angle on those clubs in your favor right?  So just save the money to change the lie angle on the Mizunos would be my advice to you.  As far as doing it yourself whether you got the money to spend on the tools and you feel comfortable doing it go for it.

Don't just start bending irons on a whim. Adjusting lie angle is a specific skill... and, hardware is costly. A low-end bending machine costs $150, and a good bending bar (#1 tool needed) can cost over $100.

Have a clubfitter help you check out your iron lies with some impact tape. The tape goes on the sole of your irons - you hit four shots, and see where the rub mark falls on the tape. Rub toward heel = need to flatten / rub toward toe = need to be more upright.

Also, what model irons did you buy? Some models have brittle steel or unusual hosel designs which make them difficult for non-factory techs to bend without damaging them. Contact the iron maker to find out.

Or, just wait until Mizuno time and get custom fitted then.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I think I'll just save my money to buy the Mizuno's and hopefully get them sooner.
