I've fitted grips for the first time myself and unfortunately a couple of them are not on straight. Just thought I'd ask if there's any way of loosening them enough to be able to straighten them up?

If you have an air compressor, they sell a tool to use for gripping your clubs that uses air pressure to keep it from "grabbing" the club until you turn the knob or something like that. However, I cannot vouch for its effectiveness.

Use plenty of solvent (lighter fluid) when installing and make sure you get it right the 1st time. Biggest mistake with newbies is not using enough solvent. Be generous. Lighter fluid dries the fastest and if it's good enough for Arnold Palmer...it's good enough for me.

Just make sure not to do it near an open flame and you'll be fine. I personally use rubbing alcohol, but either works. Another tip that helps save on costs for solvent is that you can get a paint roller drip pan and do it over that, then pour the solvent back into its bottle and reuse it for another grip. You can sometimes squirt some solvent up from the bottom of the grip with a syringe, just make sure to do it all around to avoid twisting.
