At the Range: What I watch when I watch someone

My wife recently took up golf last year and we sometimes go to the range together.  Inevitably sometime afterward she always comments on someone else who 'looked good' - as in they knew how to swing a club and should she try and incorporate that.  And most times I don't have any clue as to who she watched.  I used to be like her, but I thankfully am long past the mimic stage of my golf evolution.

When I go to the range, I typically work on the drill at hand (I'm taking lessons right now) in addition to a certain aspect to my game; short, chips, hybrids. etc.  I really don't pay attention to others.

For the most part.

But recently I have noticed the last few times that once I'm at the bottom of my bucket, I am less focused at this point on what I am trying to do find I am checking out my range neighbors. But the intent is different. I'm looking at the guy's tempo. I try and figure out if he is working on something specifically or just hacking. What is his body type, does he have any glitches in his swing etc.

So I winder, what do you pick up on if and when you watch someone at the range?

I am a self-admitted swing voyeur. I like to watch other people's swings, if for no other reason than to go 'OMG, that was fugly!'. I don't look for any one particular component or aspect, but I can usually take away something from a good swing that strikes me, like width, tempo, weight distribution, follow through, etc.
