Intersection idiots!

This happens to me all the time - I'm at an intersection and am waiting for traffic to clear to make a left turn. I have my left turn signal on of course. An oncoming car comes at me from the other direction with no turn signal on. I wait for them to go by - then the idiot makes a left or a right! Is it laziness, rudeness, stupidity, or what? Can a person be so lazy as to not want to reach over a matter of inches and hit his or her turn signal lever? AHHHHHHHG! thanks - dayll

I read this and said, "You must be in Los Angeles." Then I saw your location confirming this. In my experience, the more expensive the car, the less likely it is that it came with signals. I haven't driven beyond Southern California, so I don't know how often this occurs elsewhere. I suspect there are parts of the country that would actually do something about this...

Ahhh...it reminds me of how it used to be when I still lived in LA. It's a common sight in LA that cars are not using their signal whenever they switch lanes or make a turn. So if you're in that situation again especially when opposite cars are making turn just flash them a bit to get their attention and shout, "Your signal light is out!" Hopefully the flashing won't get them into any trouble. We don't want any lawsuit, do we?

Unfortunately you don't gotta be in the City of Angels or even on the Left Coast to run into idioots and worse on the streets & highways & even in Wal*Mart for that matter.

I'm in a small town in N.C. (@76,000 in 2000) and the inmates seem to be running the asylum here too. The other day I saw a cretin make a left turn from the left left-turn lane with his right turn signal blinking -- most of the cars turning left didn't bother to have any blinker blinking . . Even worse from my perspective (I moved here from the D.C. area where if you're driving 10 mph over the speed limit [especially on the Beltway], you're holding up traffic) many people here seem to have the idea that if you drive somewhere between 3 & 12 mph below the speed limit, you probably won't get a speeding ticket, so it's virtually impossible to ever get up to the speed limit even when traffic is light. Oops, I probably am venting a little here . . . sorry.
