Got a question for you guys? I play soft stepped X100 in my 4 through 9i and S400 in my wedges. My question is; would it increase my spin rate if I put a X100 8i in my lob wedge? I'm going to order a new TVD 60 soon and can't decide if I want to give this a try...Thanks

Putting a shaft tipped for 8i into a wedge is an idea attributed to Jack Nicklaus.

If you did this to a LW, you would basically be triple softstepping an X100 shaft.

Let's look at the frequency cycle matching (FCM) rating for the two shafts (compare their flex).

DG X100: FCM = 6.8

DG X100 triple ss : FCM = 5.9

DG S400: FCM = 6.1

So, it looks like you would get about .2 a softer flex on the 8i tipped/ X100. You should get a little extra spin - if you could measure it - but would it be worth the hassle?

Another question: Does your LW model match your GW and SW? If this is the case, do you want a different shaft and feel in one of your wedges?

You might discuss this with an experienced clubfitter. Whether your wedge shaft-length increments are 1/4" or 1/2" might influence the spin difference slightly.
