So I was just wondering, how does the PGA Tour come up with the final round pairings.  Today at THE Players there are 3 guys at the top.  Lingmerth I believe had the low round out of the 3 and Sergio had the worst round out of the 3.  I would think that Tiger and Lingmerth would be in that final group.

What is the official way that they make the pairings?

I think that they rank them by the order in which they finished.  First in the clubhouse is on top.  That's how the networks display the leaderboard usually, so I'm sort of going by that.  This from the PGA Tour site:

Quote:
Garcia is in the final group instead of Woods because he
had honors on the final hole. Since both players finished
with the same 54-hole score, that left Garcia with
Lingmerth, who had completed his round earlier.
