I would like to know out there which golf courses people love to golf and why they do.

I absolutely love playing the reserve golf course in Aloha, Or. I do because I use to work there and got pretty good at that course. I love it because the fairways are cut really short and the greens roll true. It has like no blemishes on that entire golf course. Its one of the best I have ever played.

The second I would say is Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course in North Plains, Or. I love it for the same reasons above and because I shot 4 under their the first time I played. It was an insane putting day. Fast greens though.

I, chdduncan, realize that I will be permanently banned if I violate the rules again in any way, including putting a link to a site in my signature like the one that a moderator removed and replaced with this message.

I love Tierra Rejada located in Moorpark/Simi Valley, CA.  It's right outside of Los Angeles.  The course is always in great shape. The greens are fast but not too fast. The staff is awesome and no matter what I shoot at the end of the day I'm leaving happy.  Also one of my best friends from high school works there so I get on significantly cheaper which is always nice.

Well, my own course is my fave really, Southmoor Golf Club, it was orginally designed by Alister MacKenzie, and most will know, was the architect of Augusta, its changed slightly over the years apparently, but, not that much that takes the MacKenzie feel away from it.

Its a true heathland course, very tough, more of a plotters course, I cannot remember how many balls I've lost from stray tee shots, it was a nightmare with the slice I had, and which made it more important to fix it, because it was costing a fortune in balls, lol... So yeah, if you stray, well, with a combination of heather, whinny bushes and some awesome rough, your in for a chew, and I actually love that, and when its windy, the Open's weather hasnt got a look in! :D

There is a saying around my way, that if you can play Southmoor, you can play anywhere, and its actually true, because when I've played other courses and I whip my driver out and give it a good crack, more often then not, if I stray, I still have a shot on. I played at Slayley Hall (Where they have the PGA Seniors Open) and I cruised around.

It was more apparent when I played golf in Portugal last year, there was four of us, and we played three courses, Pinhal, The Old Course and the Millenium... Pinhal is a very tight course, a bruiser if your a big hitter and spray them, I came in with 103 strokes, Jeff, my father-in-law who has a handicap of 20 came in second with a score of 130, our lasses uncle who plays off 18 carded a NR and Pam, my mother-in-law... Well, she just started playing so, was just going around and scoring stapleford.

Anyway, I absolutely adored Pinhal, and out of the 3, it was my favourite, The Old Course was okay, but, the Millenium was boring, very flat, open and as such, didnt test me like Pinhal did, everyone else loved the Millenium, but, nah, we're going back this year, different area, but, I may just jump in the car one day and have another round at Pinhal, see if I can beat 103! :D
