After demoing Ping G15 irons at my local course and being impressed, I found a good deal on a set that I was able to get for an early birthday/Christmas present. The set is 5-U. The pitching wedge (W) is 45 degrees, the gap wedge (U) is 50 degrees.

If I had a handicap, it would be high (25-30).

I have no idea what sand wedge to get. I would describe the sand traps in the area as medium. Any suggestion for brand, model, loft, bounce?

Why not get a wedge fitting?

Find a model of wedge that you like, and the fitter will let you hit it on an impact board:. This will give clues as to how you move through the ball (divot: big / medium / small/none). Also, what kind of turf conditions do you normally play on?

Golfsmith has tips on wedge selection: http://www.golfsmith.com/display?page=ps_buyersguide_wedges

And, how many wedges to you want? Do you want a 54* plus a 58* (available in G15 model), or maybe a single 56* SW at the high end? G15 came out in 2010, so I don't know how many upper-loft G15 wedges are still around.

Ping has a good variety of wedges. Not sure if any you would want are on sale or not.

i like callaway but i would demo as many as you can. taylormade has been a good wedge for a long time. you could use your 50 and open it up a bit in the sand or get a 56 that ya like. i personally don't like a lot of bounce on my wedges so like i said try some with varying bounce angles. such as say a 56/14, which in my opinion is a lot of bounce or a 56/08 or lower if you can find and brands i also like the line. i personally have bought a lot of wedges off line and still play a callaway 60 and 52 with a knight 56. yes a knight i believe i bought it at a garage sale but just cant pull it out of my bag so its all feel not name
