The 4 week Web.com Tour Finals started this week and includes the top 75 from the Web.com Tour along with PGA Tour players who finished this year 126-200 on the Fed Ex Cup point list who have not otherwise secured their PGA Tour cards for 2014.

At the end of the Web.com Tour Championship September 29, 50 players will have their PGA Tour cards for 2014.  Michael Putnam, the 2013 regular season Web.com money winner is guaranteed a full card along with the money winner for this 4 event series and both will get entry into the 2014 Players Championship as well as some of the other top events.

The remainder of the regular season top 25 are guaranteed PGA Tour cards, but money won in this four event series will determine their priority.  The other 25 cards are based strictly on money won this month.

Some names used to be big names, some of them we probably all thought were going to be good, some are still young and up and coming like Cantlay.  What happened to Ricky Barnes?  A few years back he was all over TV in tournaments usually up near the front and playing well, then all the sudden just disappeared and fighting for his card now?

Other than 2010 when he won 1.8 M, I don't think Ricky Barnes has won over 1 M any year as a pro.  We remember him because of his good showing in the Masters as an amateur and t2 at the 2009 US Open but he is really just a journeyman pro- I don't say that as a put down as I have a lot of respect for the guys who are excellent players but have to fight and grind to make a living on tour- you have to have a lot of game to be 300 in the world, but it means that when you are a little off, you are going to struggle to keep your card.

The Web.com Tour Championship wraps up this weekend with 50 players getting/keeping their PGA Tour cards.

Ricky Barnes looks like he will get the help he needed as he is now projected at 32- the big move up is because the top 25 of the Web.com still get cards even if they finish outside the top 50 for the Final series.  That means players outside that will either need to be in about the top 40 or they will end up outside the "top 50"
