Great round, fantastic. Today he will be in the flight with Henrik Stenson, nice! On his website no reaction yet, guess the webmaster was also already asleep last night.

Luiten at his website: 'Played a solid round today. Especially the first 14 holes I played very well. Hit a lot of fairways and greens in regulation. To be honest I should have holed more putts and made more birdies. The kast few holes I lost focus a little bit and on 6 unfort. I missed a short putt for par. I believe my ball hit a spikemark, but hey, that happens also. Just like a very long putt from outside the green I holed. That was a nice bonus. All together a very solid round in wet circumstances and a nice position for the weekend.'

He needs to get a bit more of a personality into his feed rather than a narrative. It's actually very matter of fact northern European isn't it, the sort of thing you associate with a Scandanavian or Jarman. If he does play his way onto the team though (or get a wildcard which is the more likely avenue) then someone like Stenson or Kaymer would be prospective foursomes partners for him, so there could be a little sub plot to his play today

He's got a reasonable matchplay record hasn't he? he actually looks tailor made for Foursomes

His record in teamplay is very good yes. Seve Trophy last year he won all his fourball and foursomes matches, in th Eurasia Cup won with Dubuisson fourballs and lost foursomes.

Haha I agree. Sounds like he is giving it in monotone using every cliche in the book.

Joost his teetime is 2:10 local time, paired with Stenson.

What are your predictions for Luiten today? His tee-to-green play is phenomonal so far. I hope for a really good round this time, 65.

You might be right. The pressure of playing high in such a tournament, as well as a possible Ryder Cup qualification on the line is completely new for Joost. We'll see, if he can play like last two days and his putting will go just a little bit better he can go low.

He needs some more birdies. It's possible, he's creating chances.

Good chance now on 9, a two metre putt for birdie.

And another par. He needs to get his putter warm.

    • No rain while I was out (9am to 11:30am). Fairly pleasant for a late November day in the Mitten.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
