Injured Stricker to 'shut it down' until December

Add another American name to the disabled list. With his FedEx Cup playoff streak about to end, Steve Stricker told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that multiple injuries will keep him out of competition for nearly the remainder of the year. "Sounds like I've got a back and hip issue," Stricker wrote in a text. "Going to shut it down till December. Rest and rehab and then try to play and see how it goes." The 47-year-old has been dealing with a hip injury for much of the summer, and two weeks ago was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left hip. He also reportedly has herniated discs in both his back and neck.
