First post, hopefully this is the right section to post.

I was wondering if anyone has or knows where I could find a rebroadcast/recording of the 2004 US open? I vaguely remember watching it with my dad but just reading some articles lately has made me want to go back and watch the whole thing start to finish. Thanks!

Yes, that should work.

I should have that round already digitized... but I'm not sharing my Sports library right now, as the Plex MetaData directory is taking up a ton of space on my local C: drive (and I've tried moving it over to another drive, but things didn't work out so greatly).

I have ordered another SSD though as my main C: drive, and hope to have it installed very shortly and afterwards I will be sharing everything again, including golf clips, as well as about 160 Michael Jordan games.  So "Stay Tuned" as they say.

I have partial second round, partial 3rd and most of 4th round. I've been looking for the 2006 Open for 9 years. Missed that an entire Open because I was at OCS. Saw the last round, though, on Golf's greatest rounds a few times, though.

Is there any way you could send those to me? I'd love to see anything that anybody has.

If I find them I'll p.m. you. They're on VHS and I have to dig them up and not sure where they are but I'll try looking for them this weekend and then convert it to DVD.

Invite resent!

I remember that Open like it was yesterday.  It was my first year of golfing (which I shot an 85 once).  Me and my buddy came back from golfing at Rockway, a local favourite course, and then threw 5 chicken breasts on the grill and went to town on some great chicken fajitas!

Seems like yesterday, that's for sure.

Thanks! I was watching the Open last week and trying to remember which open it was that also had the insane green conditions, and now I just have a strange urge to watch the hilarity from 2004!

No problem.

I'm off next week, and will be doing a lot of golfing, but I hope to install the new SSD early next week (and hopefully all goes well), and then I'll add my Sports library to Plex.

Any updates?

I'm hoping to try to install it tomorrow after golf... did you accept my invite request, I don't think you did.  The other libraries are up.

I'm also rendering the 2008 US Open highlight package from a DVD I bought... that'll be up there too.

Still looking for my VHS. I know I have them, I just have to find them and then I have to find the VHS/DVD Recorder.

Just accepted it again, thanks! Can't wait to watch the open.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
