This will be the 109th staging of the event .

Mcdowell on a hat trick after winning last year and the year before.

Le golf National will also be the venue for the next ryder cup in Europe.

Happy someone made this thread. McDowell going for the three-peat! Both him and Victor have been playing horrible since the Ryder Cup. Hometown hero Victor looking good today, in the lead after 17 holes.

And McDowell squanders the hat trick opportunity shooting a +1 (72) in the first round and now a +7 (78) in the second.

He goes home early. If he continues to play like this he'll start falling to a Tiger Woods like world ranking.

In happier news, Victor Dubuisson JUST holed out at the par 4, 6th hole and has now taken a 2 stroke lead.

Rafael Cabrera Bello looking to secure a spot at St. Andrews after a missed opportunity a few weeks ago in Ireland. In the clubhouse at -4, which likely will be the lead knowing how this course is playing.

This has been very enjoyable this morning. The Ryder Cup trio are fun to watch. Victor just putted in for birdie to get to -5.

That par 5 was like the worst most boring hole they've played all day, haha. Although watching Kaymer nearly fall was exciting.

      First going to spain for a long weekend in March probably going to play La Quinta, Los Arqueros and Fina Cortesin, and first week in May will compete in the Crawsnest Tassie at Carnoustie golf links, that will be a full week of golf golf golf and more golf. Did play it last year for the first time and it is awesome.

      Day 47: simulator day! Played St. Andrew’s and shot a +1. Not bad, especially with having to putt at this simulator set up. Had about 5 minutes at the end to work on some feels as well.

      I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.
