For those of you in Texas especially the Austin area that haven't played this fine course and have heard of it's demise wanted to post this.  Closed officially in 2009 and ravaged by the fire in the Bastrop area, the course reopened a few years ago and is getting rave reviews.

I was lucky enough to be one of the first members when this course opened in 1997, and am so excited to get to play it again this fall.  Planning on heading to Austin for a UT game and to visit family, and then a few rounds at the old home course!

Would love to hear from anybody that has played the course since it reopened.  Curious if it still has the old magic from when Mr. Apelt built the course.  His attention to detail was amazing.  I still remember playing a few rounds with him and stopping after we teed off to adjust some rocks on the retaining wall by the 2nd tee box, and then continuing our round.  He was quite a character :)

In my bag: Lazrus everything with R flex

Driver, 3 wood, 4,5 and 6 hybrid

7-pw, gw,lw and mallet putter
