I know it's just a statistic - but I don't believe the reason Europe have done better in recent years is because they play 4ball in the morning. I'd prefer to have the 4-balls in the morning because foresomes is less tiring (or is it?) Who knows! I'm excited!

United States Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger has announced the Order of Play for the first two days of The 37th Ryder Cup. Azinger has elected to play Morning Foursomes and Afternoon Fourballs at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20, 2008. That format for the first two days of competition was last utilised in 1999, when the U.S. rallied for a 14½ to 13½ victory at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Since 1973, when The Ryder Cup first featured Morning Foursomes and Afternoon Fourballs in its opening two days, the U.S. has won three times, lost twice and drawn once. The Order of Play with Foursomes preceding Fourballs each day was repeated in 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995 and 1999. Team Europe has recorded consecutive 18½ to 9½ victories in the last two Ryder Cups, playing Morning Fourballs and Afternoon Foursomes. The final day of competition, to be played on Sunday, September 21, 2008, is reserved for 12 Singles Matches.

Honestly, the format won't make that much of a difference, I think we have a good chance of winning this year. Our top guys have upped their game and are on top form. Let's hope they stay this way come September.
