  2. Thanks for the feedback and support guys. I appreciate it.
  3. Agree and disagree. There is no one right way, but most people really don't have "a way." In this context, even if they have "a way" they are probably leaving out half of the equation. I would also disagree that people need to spend as much time putting as they do hitting. Most people need more work on their ball striking than they do putting. However, just like with their ball striking, if they knew what and how to practice they could get a lot better in a shorter period of time.
  4. Hey Guys, I just wanted to share a video I did on my new YouTube channel about prioritizing during your green reading routine. This is something that really hindered my putting when I was an amateur and something that I've noticed a lot of my students struggle with as well. The information behind why speed is important might be fairly common knowledge to those of you that spend a lot of time here. However, I don't think prioritization is discussed that often. I'm interested to hear what everyone thinks.
  5. Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. Honestly, I didn't know I made this post (cough* Erik). But yeah, the swing is really nice at the moment. Its been a long journey to get to this point. It feels amazing to be able to actually hit driver and irons solid/"straight" at the same time. Its always been one or the other until recently. Couldn't have done it without Erik and Dave though. I would still be spinning my wheels if they hadn't been there to point me in the right direction over the last few years.
  6. https://twitter.com/BrianMcGrewGolf/status/493520965075083266 My swing from the 19th. Hitting the ball amazing. Shout out to @ iacas @ golfevolution http:// youtu.be/AHpm2il6CG8
  7. Sorry it took me a while to see this. We have one of our junior camps this week, so the last 2 days have been pretty long. Anyways, I agree with what Erik said. The door frame idea and the stick drill are great ways to practice. Find the feel/drill that works for you and run with it.
  8. Yeah, we talked about this a little on twitter when I saw the videos. IMO, its better to take a leap and exaggerate when it comes to this piece. You either end up closer to the middle than you imagined you would have OR the middle becomes a lot more comfortable after feeling the other extreme. With better turning rates, I don't think it would have been as exaggerated as it seemed. "Up" is "out" (to a point) without the "in" created by the shoulder turn.
  9. Sign me up. It shall be done
  10. Another one from the guy a few posts up. I can't get over how awesome he is doing. The first picture was of A3 (backswing) and this is of A5 (downswing).
  11. I won't get into everything, but I don't think its fair to say that we were trying to compete with them or capitalize on what they have done. I, and others, attempted to talk with them about this issue and they not only ignored what we had to say, but also made accusations about our motives. The funny thing is that these posts would likely have never existed if they had handled the situation differently.
  12. The issue isn't that they don't understand the pressure data -- let's be real here, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the data in the DVDs varies too much to be accurate. Even easier to figure out when someone does the research for you and explains it to you, so IMO they understand there is an issue with their numbers. -- The issue is that they understand and refuse to change. In their own words nothing has changed since day one. They don't have an interest in providing the best information possible. They have an interest in proving they were right. I wish them luck in their quest.
  13. Why? Because you have a driver Right shoulder is going to need to lower one way or another. Things get a little less "simple" when you factor that into your system.
  14. If setup is 0 or what you are measuring against, I would think you could see a good amount less than 90*. Even more so with the players that do a bunch of shallowing in transition.
  15. In relation to what?
  16. I'm almost positive I know that golf course. If its the one I'm thinking of, that is one of the worst holes ever designed. #13 at Spring Lakes? As far as your swing is concerned, I agree with Erik.
  17. And to further what Erik said, if you go back and look at the same DVD that Phil pulled that picture (66% left) from, there is another picture of Grant with his pressure being around 65% right at 4. So you have a 30% difference between the two and the swings look the same. IMO, if you could look at the traces of those two swings, they would look extremely similar. However, the video would show those pressure shifts happening at different points in the swing.
  18. Player dependent obviously, but Grant is basically there at 5 or a touch later. As consistent as he is, I doubt you'd see it change much from that.
  19. IMO, the pressure data is accurate, but it doesn't correspond to the picture presented.
  20. Some of the other videos/pictures that we have seen make a lot of sense now.
  21. I believe it was taken in the last couple of days (if not yesterday). And while I'm at it, what I love most about that pic is the "Level, Steep, Shallow." Too funny
  22. Nick Clearwater is who I would go to in that area. He knows his stuff and works with some really good players.
  23. Not only that, but when its happening is important as well. Towards the target early is probably side bend and towards the target late is likely extension.
  24. Ball position is different.
  25. I can almost understand her making a video about the dangers of dragging the elbow/handle like she was doing when demonstrating the "wrong" way. And I can almost agree that the deep elbow feel could possibly create more of a draw. However, there is a very specific context in which those statements would be considered accurate. IE: Trying to get the elbow in front can cause a bit of handle drag and that can cause some issues. But at the same time, how often is that the issue that is causing your average golfer to slice? I mean sure, lots of people read Hogan's book, but I haven't seen many golfers actually doing that. OR Feeling the right elbow staying deep might help someone that is throwing their arms out on the downswing, but again, most of the time (in my experience) the left arm is out of position because of the backswing and/or sequencing issues. Overall I wouldn't say its the best "how to fix your slice" tip out there. There are lots of other generalizations that would help far more people. Just my opinion though.
