  1. Wow, heard rumors about this but didn't think more info would come this soon. My question is, do any of the other top companies have the cash to compete with Nike, or is this pretty much a sure thing? Taylormade is the only other that comes to mind, but I just don't see that happening. I really don't know much about this stuff though, so maybe I'm overlooking something.
  2. glad I'm not the only one! I can't count how many blind tee shots I've thought were going to be easily findable in the fairway (or at least first cut, not far off) just to see they've vanished. But it's even worse when you watch the balls flight in its entirety, try to make a mental note of something near where it landed, and STILL can't find it Back on topic: currently playing laddie x balls, but I'm currently testing a new 5w in the bag thats been helping me hit A LOT more fairways compared to my driver. If the trend continues for a while, I'll be tempted to test out a few pricier balls.
  3. Interested to see how the top line looks on the tour model....looks pretty good though. I'm a typical sucker for Taylormade's marketing, but I will say my OCD wouldn't get along with that slot for very long. q-tips/toothpicks+flashlight after every round =p
  4. Blade, but i've been thinking more and more about trying a mallet style putter. I've always felt I've been able to identify my mistakes more with the blade, but that may just be a mental thing, and i'm sure with practice I could get comfortable with something else. There are plenty of mistakes to identify however, so I'm far from set in my ways.
  5. 2010 BSG stand bag. IMO the best of both worlds, being just about as bulky as i would be willing to carry as well as functioning very well when I use a cart. Seems to be holding up pretty well so far. My one complaint would have to be that when you are at the full 14 [or more, if going to experiment at the range] it can get pretty crowded. Overall I don't see myself getting a new bag for quite some time.
  6. Footjoy guy here as well. Haven't tried too many gloves, pretty much started out buying those multi packs of warbirds from walmart, but since I picked up a SPIDR2 at my pro shop I haven't needed a new one. It's grown a bit rigid with all the sweat drying, but it still fits comfortably with more than enough pad left throughout the glove. I also picked up a two pack of WeatherSofs at a local range when I forgot to put the spidr back in my bag, and have really enjoyed those as well. Pretty much use the spidr for the range now and the weathersofs when i play, both are great gloves and I can definitely see why they are so popular.
  7. Do you prefer cord or non-cord grips? I imagine if you've used non-cords they probably are a safe bet. I'm curious as well, considering my old dd2's are pretty much dead and i've been trying to figure out which direction to go [toss up between crosslines or one of the newer GP models]
  8. Picked up another double dozen laddie x golf balls at walmart last night while i was there to grab some fishing tackle.....tempted to try the wilson staff duo's after hearing some good stuff, but will probably just go with what i know until next season.
  9. So, I was in target earlier in the week, and when I'm biding time waiting for family/friends I typically look at electronics, and then move to the golf/sporting goods section if the store has a decent selection. I wasn't expecting much but they did actually have the standard fare and even some decent deals on some cheaper stuff. Anyways, I noticed along with the usual D2's, Gamers, and usual Top Flite balls they had a double dozen of a model simply called "Eagle." It was 19.99 for 24, and i picked up a box just out of sheer curiousity. They have the dimple in dimple thing that some of Top Flites nicer balls use, and at first glance, I'm guessing that its just a repackaged D2 straight, or perhaps they just boiled the D2 down to its most balanced form. I searched around the web to see what the word on these was, and I noticed that the only place that sells them is target, and targets website through amazon. It appears to me that they are some sort of target exclusive (I've noticed target carries the top flite starter set in a different, blue color as opposed to the regular red and black) So i'm guessing Top Flite and Target have some exclusivity deal to offer some unique stuff. So my question is, has anyone else encountered them? played them, even? I'm getting out tomorrow so hopefully I'll get enough good shots to give you guys my impressions (Although I'm guessing they'll perform quite similarly, if not identical, to any D2 thats not the feel model) PS. Tried a quick search, didn't find anything. Apologies in advance if I missed something!
  10. I think the OP was asking how much YOU spent, not the retail worth. So yeah, however much you personally spent.
  11. what a MONSTER, you can't phase this guy it seems
  12. I've been using the spidr 2 since i bought it sometime around April/May, And for the price they're asking it's really a great glove. Haven't tried too many gloves, only warbirds and this one, but I imagine they don't make em much more comfortable/durable until you're paying for the top cabretta leather stuff. Unless you literally go to the range EVERY DAY I think you'll be ok, mine only has some slight wear in the palm/index finger where my grip and the glove have the most friction (sorry if thats a poor description, i seem to have left some of my vocabulary elsewhere =p) POINT BEING: Get it, I highly doubt you'll regret it, and it looks pretty cool too. May end up sticking with these gloves down the line myself.
  13. Wow, I figured it wasn't gonna be easy but I never saw an ending like this coming o_0 Not sure who i want to win at this point....
  14. Hmm, thats a pretty cool idea. I would definitely be intrigued if they ever did something like that.
  15. What a year to be a panthers fan, unbelievable how you can go from looking so strong (08-09 regular season), lose one playoff home game, and completely fall apart. I thought matt moore was our QB after the end of last season, but this year has just been a nightmare at that position. Now with both our backs out, its gonna be a long time before we're in the hunt for even a wild card =/
