  1. +1 I'll wear flip flops in the car after golf or a bike ride but that's about it.
  2. I used your toe up drill that last few times at the range. What a killer drill !!! I was having some issues and this drill has really helped me. It has slowed my swing pace, which had sped up over time. It also keeps my lower body quiet which was another issue I was having. What I didn't expect is it has givin me a slight draw. With the back foot dropped and heel up it really clears a path for the club to come from the inside and gives me the in to out feel. I have actually been using this as a practice swing to give me the correct feel before I hit the ball.
  3. +1 I'm a feel player too and book serves me well. I just picked it up last week and the single biggest change is my attitude tword the game. I feel more relaxed and have the affirmation that I need to do what works for me.
  4. Our company puts on a few scrambles a year. i thought the committee ramdomly picked holes to determine hwat your handicap was going to be. I do like the "cheater" call out the best. That is exactly what they are cheating cowards.................
  5. One of my friends at work wears them ALL the time. They just don't fit into my paradigm of golf. Kinda like boots on a tennis cort. Dorky is a good way to put it. I have never seen a sign either but it may not have registered becuse I have never even remotly thought of wearing a pair :)
  6. +1 I don't hang with any of my HS classmates Park Hill High Scool Class of '84 Mighty Trojans !!!!!
  7. Wow someone replied I play alot at paradise point ( Smithville ), both courses are nice up there. Tiffany Greens is a great couse but get your green fee on Last Minute Golfer, its nice but not $80 nice. Sunflowers Hills is a fav, takes me back to my high school days plus they have stupid cheap green fees. Shoal Creek is one of the best in the city. My golf leage plays out you way at Falcon Ridge. I really need to get down your way and hit Sycamore Ridge and Prairie Highlands. Never have played either.

    Intro

Welcome aboard !! This is a great site.
  9. I have had a few with my best firend back in high school/college days. He was always the driver. We had the 360's, the sand traps, the pond and the mud stories covered. The best recent one was at a scramble held by my company. It is more like a drinking party the just happend to be on a golf coure with half the team serious and half there for the beer. We had finished and I was walking back up 18 helping the groups comming in find there drives to speed thing up. Here comes a cart blasting down the fairway and I step out to point to were their ball is and the driver ( my business partner and VP ) does not see me till the last second and does a power side. Well out comes his passenger ( another business partner ) sliding on the wet grass right up to my feet with her skirt pulled up from the slide. I personally could not stop laughing once she I saw she was ok. BTW, she was going "commando" that day.
  10. That is why I said "I think" We replayed that video a bunch and several of us thought we saw a 4 but we could never get it freeze on that frame. It would not surpise me to find out we were wrong.
  11. I too am debating on which GPS to buy. I tried a sky caddie out (sg3). I really like the intelli green feature. They also have a ton of pro mapped courses too. I have not used the sureshot but the UI looks to be waaay better. I think a GPS and a mid-level range finder would be a great combo. FYI, my friend at Garmin told me ( back in Jan ) that they just bought a golf GPS company and will have a GPS this season. Don't know if it is out yet.
  12. I think he had it replaced by 15. We TIVOed the masters and replayed his slice into the water about 100 times. When he was taking a few practice swings the sole of the club passed thru the field of view. We slowed it down and replayed it at different speeds and for a split second several of us thought we saw a 4. It was strange but I only saw the 4 when we replayed it about 3/4 speed. Super slow mo must have skipped two many frames.
  13. Just wanted to say hi !! Just a little background. Play golf in highschool and some college. Pretty much quit when I was about 23, call it burnout/fustration. Picked it up again when I hit my mid-30's. Now I'm 40 and trying to get my new "old-man" swing in order. Can't just grip it and rip it any more I love playing for a few reasons. 1) I love being outside 2) I really enjoy playing with my friends, it seems ti be the only time we can get together. 3) Nothing like sinking a putt on 18 and being able to talk smack on your co-workers/friends
  14. Welcome aboard. With a name like islandgirl I thought you would be one of those to bleessed to be in Hawaii ;)
  15. +1 Chipping has to be it. Up and down is a huge part for me to have a good score. My logic is chip it with 10-15 ft and make half those putts you are going to be ok for a hacker like me. I worked hard on my short game this winter and it has already paid off with saving my butt when other parts of my game less than stellar. Off the tee to me is more of a game management issue. If I'm ( or any other hacker ) is thinking correctly the tee game can me kept in check by using iron s/hybrids/3 wood off off the tee.
  16. Brand does not mean near as much to me today as it did a few years back. It started with my last set of irons ( Nickent Genex ). Never heard of tehm and they turned out to be great. I'm not a big Nike fan but after hitting their driver and their iron recently Im consider trying a set. That is one great thing about golf, you can piece together what works for you without being forced to conform to on manufactures view of how it should all be done.
  17. I'm a Programmer Geek at a mutal fund company. Code, code, code..................
